pressure settings

I just received my Aircurve 11 a couple of hours ago. (my aircrve 10 had 10000 plus hours on it, so I applied for a new machine) I hooked it up and tried it out, and all seemed well, except it kept shutting down after a few minutes. I checked all hoses and tubes and they were tight, so I was wonderi...

Re: My personal experience with Inspire for Sleep Apneas

Interesting. I, too, was interested in Inspire 10 or 15 years ago, but then I read the statement: "Your sleep apnea must wake you between 15 and 65 times per hour" and gave up.
I now keep my AHI around .75, and have no use for it.

Re: Returning bibap user.. need a new bibap

Yeah, you're probably right. I have my old Philips refurbished Respironics Dreamstation bipap, which Philips sent to me about 8 months after the recall, but I placed it in my closet, and haven't touched it. Its probably o.k. and safe now, but somehow I can't seem to use it anymore. Its like the rest...

Re: Returning bibap user.. need a new bibap

You should have gotten rid of that Respironics a long time ago. (I had 9000 hrs on mine when the recall hit in 2021) I've had the Resmed Aircurve 10 since then. (I have 6700 hrs on it now) Its been working great (My AHI is below 1) I will use it as long as it continues to give good therapy. Out of c...

Correct me if I'm wrong. Doesn't the qualifications for Inspire implant require that one's average pressure be 15 or over. Mine is 9 - 10.

Re: Resmed N30i Cushion change in Material?

I use the N30i and have several left over from when I first received it.

The only difference I can see is that the newer one have air vents, as seen below.

Re: FDA Authorizes OSA Appliance to Wear While Awake

Well, when I saw the reaction in the ad, I was full of hope that my wife would react the same way. (at my age i need all the help I can get) But when I asked her how it would look on me, she said "If you come at me at night with that thing in your mouth, you'll be on the couch in the living room." S...

Thanks, I'll do it (keep as a backup)

You may have me mixed up with someone else --- not at all rich, much less filthy, at least most of the time.

Re: Philips Respironics Recall V2.0 Questions and Answers

I received a new Respironics Dreamstation yesterday. What am supposed to do with it? Remember that last August I bought a new Aircurve 10 Vauto after getting my prescription for it from my sleep doc. for which I paid for myself. I had 9500 hours on my old Dreamstation, and was hoping to get to over ...

Re: Why doesn't everyone use a cervical collar?

I may just use this new device, and see if it suits me. I sounds like it may be useful, since my SA is fairly mild. The FDA has approved it and says that it will do marvelous things for those like me and others, such as stopping snoring and so forth. Of course it won't add much to my sex appeal. How...

Re: Ordered New Machine and Thank you

I'm with you on that. They promised me a new Resmed machine (what I was prescribed) in January, when my 5 years are over. So, I'll use the machine I bought for a backup. My Dreamstation as well as my backup, a system one 750P were both in the recall. I was very upset and saw my doctor immediately, o...

Re: Ordered New Machine and Thank you

My experience was similar to yours. The recall sent me into a "tail spin" 6 weeks ago. I immediately made an appt with my sleep doc who prescribed a Vauto Aircurve bilevel, and he wrote the pressures on it. With prescription in hand, I was not able to get a machine anywhere in this city, because of ...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Yeah, amen to that. I just found out the 5-year rule does NOT apply if there is a recall. I went to FOUR DME's the very day the doctor gave me my prescription, and they all gave me the run-around. I called Medicare, and talked to a person, who confirmed that I should have gotten my new machine witho...

Re: Purchase new machine, send bill to Medicare

Guess what dear friends!!. The 5-year rule DOES NOT apply when there is a recall! I just got off the phone with medicare. It been 3 weeks since my sleep doc gave me a prescription, and I still have not gotten my new machine. I went to FOUR DME suppliers to try to fulfill my prescription, and I got a...
