Re: Replace thinking chemicals lost from apnea?

Goofproof, It has been scientifically proven that brain cells are generated/grown in the brain throughout your entire life. You just want to ensure you don't continually lose more than your brain can grow/replenish. Not necessarily the memories contained or the pathways to a memory. Any cell death ...

Re: aargh, left mask at home

Happened to me that I forgot everything when my dad broke his hip and I was a little spacey. My brother is a hose head also and had an extra mask, we slept in shifts for the machine. Brothers are good to have. Another time I forgot the power converter and when i asked my host if he had something tha...

Re: Headaches Gone!

The first time around headaches were the least of my worries. After my surgery I was free of apneas for about 6 years and they started coming back again, headaches in the morning were my first clue.

I don't think anything is normal with sleep apnea, but I would say it is not unusual.

Re: OT: Asked if I had a gun in my home during physical.

If a patient is taking one of these more powerful, dangerous psychotropic drugs (like Chantix), they should not be near a gun, kids, ...or drive either. Used it twice for quitting smoking, first time didn't take but the second did. I work at a gun company and have multiple firearms in the house and...

Re: I Dx'ed a guy while driving home tonight

Cigarettes, Coca Cola. singing all were used but the best was a full bladder while driving. I used to think everybody had to stop every hour to walk around the car to wake up. Now I ride motorcycle and can go almost three hours between gas stops without drifting off. I knew I was in trouble when i s...

Re: Reasons not to discontinue CPAP therapy even for one night

Left my power supply cord (12 volt) at home on my last trip. Went through one night without it. didn't look at the clock but i was staring at the ceiling from an abrupt wakening about every 15 minutes. I never even got to the snoring stage according to my host. The next morning I asked him if he had...

Re: Damn it feels good to be a Gangsta.....

At my dad's funeral I had a guy come up to me and tell me that if my dad had not caught him trying to steal from our business in 1967 he would be in prison now. Dad put him to work paying off the value of the theft, after he got done he asked if there was anything else he could do. Dad put him on th...

Re: Guess what dumb thing I did?

When my dad broke his hip I rushed the 280 miles to see him and remembered "the box" about halfway there. Called my big brother which I had helped become comfortable with his "box" whe he got it. Same pressure, he had an old mask for a spare. We just had to alternate using it, not hard since we were...

Compared to about 14" if rigid headgear on the Breeze the hose is NO problem

Pillow masks and motorcycle traveling

I ride motorcycle and if I want to take a weekend trip i MUST bring my box and mask along. Currently I run a Breeze but the fragility of the system scares me and it is rather rogod making it high volume for packing. I have used the Swift before and didn't really like it but it did work, now I see th...

Re: Men of a Certain Age

Looking better? Getting respect? Maybe I should think about becoming an actor. Nah, obviously all you need is a Mirage Quattro. Mirage ... The mask of the stars. Now I will be on the edge of my seat waiting to see what kind of machine Braugher's character has. I'm betting on an S9. ResMed ought to ...

Re: Could I bother you all for a little assistance?

Thank you stanta for the info about caffeine withdrawal headaches. I've been taking the antibiotic from he{{ and the stomach issues have me off coffee and drinking ginger ale. Now I know why I have a low grade frontal headache. They can take up to a week to subside. I torture myself every once in a...

Re: Could I bother you all for a little assistance?

I would like to compliment you on your beautifully worded topic sentence. Not many people that polite now a days. Yes it could be sleep apnea but as the others say, talk to a doctor. oxygen deprivation headaches are real. That is one way I know i may have to up my pressure a bit on my machine but I ...
