stuffy nose

I would guess also that you maybe getting too much humidified air. But you might also have an allergy kicking in. During my first year or so on APAP, I used a heated humidifier especially during colder months. But now I do not like to use a humidifier at all due to excess moisture. I have some sort ...

BWCA travel

Very good! That's where I was at 2 years ago. Light and small are the solutions for the BWCA. Two years ago, I bought a BreatheX and a spare battery pack. That was very expensive and it only gave me about 3 nights or so. I found that if I used it every other night, stayed away from alcohol, and side...

Batteries

The FAA is very nervous about lithium batteries on board. This trickles down to the airlines, especially if the airline had an incident where a battery-operated product smoked or started a fire on board. The FAA may believe that batteries are safer if they are not recharged in flight. This is the ca...

BreatheX

I purchased on of the first units off of the production line. My need is twofold: 1. I take wilderness canoe trips where heavy/large setups cannot be tolerated. 2. I take it on an out of town/country trip for a week or so where my usual cpap is undesireable. A new battery pack would get me about 1.3...

Difference between AHI 4.7 & 2.9

No sweat, MrRandom......the difference is precisely 1.8 ! LOL The DME probably told you that you would not be able to tell the difference, because the health people say that AHI levels of 5 and below are representative of NORMAL (not OSA) people. With APAPs and data recording technology, it is fairl...

dry eye

Just today I saw my opthalmologist who had started treating me for "dry eye." He placed a couple temporary plugs in my lower tear ducts (at lower eye lids) a few weeks ago. I was to report back today on how my eyes did during the first several days of use with these temporary plugs. I told him that ...

I'd like to know if the software itself is against the law..

I recall reading a few submissions of their "auto's" to the FDA. I do not recall seeing anything about the reliabilty of the electronic control system or software in the "auto." I also do not recall seeing anything about evaluation of the software that obtains information from the smartcard (and wri...

CPAP Battery

Most CPAP's that allow use of a 12vdc input should be able to operate one night using a 20 ampere-hour battery and still have enough reserve so that you don't discharge the battery too much during that night. Then recharge it the next day. Lead acid batteries don't like to be deeply discharged. A Re...

Wulfman, I did not write up a separate invoice from me to them......Is that the mistake I made? Is the appeal opportunity now gone, since I sent them a copy of the cpap.com paid invoice along with my claim form? I did not phone them in advance, since it takes forever to get someone live on the phone...

Leakage

I haven't heard of zero leakage.
Maybe that's just a special situation with your apap.
Normally, a certain amount of leakage is required to vent CO2 during exhales.
I suspect a good bit of seemingly unsufficient treatment may be due to excessive leakage.

Insurance deductible question

I recall a post or two sometime ago about this, but I haven't been able to find it via the search function. I purchased a cpap and filed a claim with the insurance company. The company paid a smaller reimbursement than I expected, because they said that cpap.com was not an in-network provider. Out o...

Laurie, I've got an Aura, really like it, and did the rubber band trick that cured my leak problems when new. Did you add rubber bands too? After I put the mask on each night and before I go to sleep, I wiggle each of the prongs to be sure they are set properly in the nostrile. Do you do something l...

How did your doc write the script with no titration?.......APAP, 4-20? Anyway, I would get your myencore curve out that shows the plot for AHI vs. Pressure. Have you shown this to your doc? I'd want to confirm that around 15 or above, the AHI heads back up. Ideally, I'd want the cpap setting to be r...

Works like a champ!

Price came down after I got mine.
