Re: Wake up during apnea?

Seems I wake up suddenly (like 3a.m.). I'm not gasping for breath. Could I possibly be waking up during an apnea event? Last night numbers were leak 38, ahi 4.2, ai 0.3. Thanks, Pat Pat, maybe you need another sleep study done to find out why you are waking up. You may be having other problems depe...

Re: No Sympathy

The question that comes up VERY frequently (in some manner) is: "If I lose some weight, will I get rid of the sleep apnea?" In all probability, it was the sleep apnea or a history of poor sleep that caused the weight gain to begin with. In the 3+ years I've been reading the forums, I've only read a...

Re: No Sympathy

Billy6, somewhat of an ungrateful child you have there. (A quote from my own mother) But I wore braces, silvers, on my terribly upper buck teeth for like 2 years when I was a child. I was never upset with her for doing this for me. It cost her a bundle in that day and age, more like what 3 month's p...

Instead of giving me Provigal (I suppose because of my special circumstances and injury) my Pain doctor put me on the generic form of Ritalin. I looked at how the two work differently and he is great. The Ritalin does more than keep you up. Of course there might be problems with the other drugs I ta...

I have been reading about Central and Complex SA and this would fit the bill. The OSA part is taken care of during your sleep, no obstructions, but OSA can turn into the others. Central moreso. They don't know much about it as you'll see when you do a search, and it is the altered breathing that cau...

Good luck, sounds like you need it!
I need to take a closer look at my reports and see where I have the worst episodes. Thank you

Joe, I just read a bunch of techy stuff about Central Sleep Apnea, and some of your symptoms kinda sound familiar. Like why a whole tank of water? How much is that? When was the last time you saw your specialist about your SA? Seen a printout in the last while? I mean, either you're drinking it or y...

[quote="wlo2008"]I have Severe Centrals as well as OSA disordered breathing. I can tell you how I feel when I have them. When I was having my OSA I felt like I was chocking and I could not breath. With my Centrals I actually wake up just holding my breath. I even do this during the day. I am not sur...

you mean like if you suspect your machine is not counting them correctly? it is akin to T-Rex vibrations seen in the water puddle as he approaches closer or clusters of apnea in higher frequency. Okay, so if you see 5-6 OA in a short span of time and then nothing for an hour and then you get one OA...

Hey Snoredog, We've kinda ruled out the narcolepsy thing. And the Cataplexy stuff too. I only get weak when I am in pain. You said, "Low levels of carbon dioxide causes tetany by altering the albumin binding of calcium such that the ionised (physiologically influencing) fraction of calcium is reduce...

I had my turbinates trimmed years ago because I gave myself frostbite 30 years ago. Tried drugs at first but the sinus headaches were horrible. So the ENT Dr did an MRI and found scar tissue and a deviated septum. So we did it a few weeks later. Helped a lot with the headaches for many years, althou...

Lee, I certainly do not have a problem with what you are saying. I went and looked up the meaning and you must have some horrible pain and cramps in all those areas and I really feel for you and I hope you will be healed and start feeling better soon. Maybe it did contribute to the OSA and like you...

I certainly don't see why those of you who have problems with certain muscles not being able to hold your airway open enough to breath haven't been dx'd with a neuromuscular problem in that particular area. I never had SA or sleeping problems prior to my accident. Up at the crack of dawn, and wide a...
