Re: Need some help with sleep study results
As to the reasons for the Central Apnea; some programs or scorer's mistakenly count these events that happen right after an arousal from sleep. The respiratory effort normally ceases then. Another cause of Central Apnea is a neurological disease. ..of which you will have to consult your doctor. In y...

Re: CA Component of AHI
An ave. AHI of 4.9 is great!!
There is a possibliliity that your machine is counting the CA's that normally occur while transitioning from wake state to stage - 1 of sleep. These are called Sleep Onset Central's and are quite normal.

Find "faith" ppl in our church to do things with....ones that are currently using cpap woud be best. Get out of the house for a time.
As to sleep, try some chomomile or passion fruit tea for calming effects. YOu can try sleeping in a recliner as a stop-gap, but do not get used to this.

Re: Trying again, but why are my legs sore?
I agree with the observation of sleeping in the one position throughout the night. You could try some pillows to keep your legs elevated. In addition, I have heard some pts. find relief with some suppliments that are needed for muscular and nervous systen health. These include the calcium, phosphoru...

The Comfort-Gel fullface...it has a firmer gell insert that presses into the hairs firmer.
I think best is the Comfort--Gel nasal type, the smallers he can tolerate...along with a Chinstrap for mouth breathing. Usually in the studies, I see ppl that mouth breathe stop as the body adapts to cpap.

I saw this episode on Dr.Oz concerning diet and amount of sleep. A sleep disorder doctor had finished his study on this and was presenting his findings. Here is the link...

Re: Are you supposed to FEEL the air coming from the machine?
If your machine has an option that reduces the pressure slightly upon exhaling...this could be the reason for not feeling air pressure going into your nose/mouth. The option is called C-Flex on some units.

Soon, you will not let anyone or anything come between you and your precious....you would rather strangle the person trying to take it away from you...you will disappear into the realm of sleep becoming a wraith....thankfully you no longer sound like Gollum at nite now.

Ask about jaw structure then. A receding jaw will cause a narrow airway.

Re: Got my daughter's study results
I think you are becoming more confident for the ENT visit...some suggestions for the visit are 1. Bring along you 3 rd trimester experience. Especially if her birth Wes normal and full term. This is when lung function is established...as memory serves; 2. Start a journal to document sleep patterns. ...

Re: Foods to help sleep Quality? Any thoughts?
Try the Dr. Oz web site.....search for "sleep type". A sleep disorder Dr. Recently finished a study on diet and hours of sleep. I found it satisfying that he found another positive reason to eat chocolate......for some ppl.
