Good luck Bobby. I've been on cpap for 5 weeks now. Your setup is identical to mine, except I'm at 12. You'll notice immediate changes. I use the ramp, but I changed my initial ramp setting from a 4 to a 6.5. At a 4 I felt like I was sufficating. 4 was simply not pushing enough air for me. I was not...

As odd as it may sound, I used to always have to fall asleep in a position of semi-fetal, semi-side, semi-stomach with the pillow folded up, wrapped around half my head. Per my wife, as soon as I was asleep, I would flip to my back and stay that way the rest of the night. With cpap, I tried all diff...

Welcome crossfit....you have already received lots of information advice from your post, so I'll just try to give you some encouragement. I am on week 5. My sleep study showed that I was averaging 92 events per hour and the nurse even burst into the room once during the night because my breathing ha...

I'm new (2 weeks) and have not yet had to travel, but will soon. I was simply going to pack my machine in my checked luggage. Is there a reason I need to carry the machine onboard? I don't plan to sleep on the plane.

I'm new and have only used the LT but in reading the posts I remembered what my DME told me when he sized it for me. I'm using a small pillow. And my head/nose is not small. But he said the smaller would be a better fit. It needs to feel loose but will seal when the machine is on. Also, the straps n...

Yes Bookbear

I agree/understand your comment. The tech at the triation study told me to "give it 3 weeks" before you start feeling better. She explained I will be experiencing what she called REM Rebound. I have not had REM for such a long time, the body, when it can get it, will try to get as much as it can and...

1st week impressions

I have just completd my first week with CPAP. Thanks to everyone on this site who have answered questions for me and for all the great posts on this site. I don't think I would have made it through the week without the knowledge I have found here. Here is how my first week went: (warning - post is k...

Thanks

Thanks for the update. Glad to know I'm not suffering for CO2 poisioning (or something). Maybe my head has been suffering from oxygen deprivation for so long that now it is getting it, I'm overwhelmed. Could be caffeen withdrawals too. Hopefully it will get better in a few days (that is what I'm tel...

does not sound good

Wow, that is kind of scary. I do not have the software. Where do I get? I also hear about the need for a smartcard reader....does that come with the software or do I need to get that too? According to the machine, the avg L/min is 31. Does that mean I'm leaking about 31 minutes a session or 31 minut...

Thanks for the replies

I think I'm getting deep, good sleep. It has only been a few days and I don't feel like a 20 year old yet again, but I have noticed that I'm not having any problems staying alert during very boring meetings, I was drinking 2 20oz Dr. Peppers each morning just to get me to lunch where I could have an...

Newbie with a couple of questions

I've just completed my 4th night on CPAP. Thank you all for the posts on this site. I have read much and learned much and made some adjustments last night that made it one of the better nights on this new way of sleep life. I do have two questions: 1. For the last two days, I have felt very light-he...
