I cant really explain the difference in words, but yes, there is a world of difference between the two. I was on straight cpap with cflex (pressure of 17) and went to apap with aflex, BIG difference. It was like breathing into an empty tube! At one point I switched to cpap again with cflex, only to...

The new medicare guidelines recommend giving CPAP for 12 weeks to see if the patient is benefiting from the therapy. Of course the definitions of benefit can vary. CMS recommends not continuing therapy in event of absence of benefits or adherence to PAP therapy.
