Leak

What kind of leak are you getting? With that high of a pressure, it's normal to have a high leak with any mask you use.

I prefer the Mirage Swift over the Optilife, and know what you mean about the headgear. It varies depending on your hair style too. I think this new "Pap Cap" might work well for you though.

Inform

Yes, I have a pamphlet that talks about going to hospitals if you have OSA and what to do. It does state to inform everyone about your condition and other handy information. I can scan it and send anyone a copy who wishes to have it.

Surgery

Converting it is probably possible but sounds like it would indeed be "surgery". Might want to buy a few replacement tubings just incase 1 or 2 get ruined.

Wife

It is common to stop breathing at Sleep Onset. Perhaps your Wife noticed this when you were falling asleep or falling back asleep after waking up. In those cases, that is normal, and not a reason to worry. There is no difference in the pressure, but it might just feel that way since it's a different...

Narcolepsy

Narcolepsy is pretty rough, sorry to hear. I've heard some patients tell me they use Melatonin to sleep and that it works well. Plus, it's naturally produced in our bodies, not created by these drug companies.

AHI/SP02

Sp02 is usually a little higher, not as high as when you are awake, but 90% is not bad. 90-92% is common with elderly patients, as they won't be at 97-98% like someone who is in their 30's & 40's. That sounds pretty good, as long as you didn't have many drops in the 80's and below 85. That AHI is al...

CPAP

Also, how long have you been using the CPAP? It's hard to sleep 8 hours without waking up once, but are you not able to fall back asleep?

C-Flex

We usually have the C-Flex set to 3 for patients having a CPAP Study using a mask for the first time, which helps them adjust to the pressure since they're not use to it. Most people who use CPAP at home don't use the C-Flex, or stop using it after a 1-2 months. It's just designed to gradually build...

The "premium chin strap" from Respironics is really nice - better than the regular and deluxe ones from Respironics.
