Re: Coughing when eating...

I have the same problem. It started when drinking mixed juices that contained cranberries, I went to an ENT who ran an endoscope down through my noses saw nothing wrong, I also got a second opinion. I then went to my pulmonologist/sleep doctor. I became aware I had asbestos in my lungs in 2002, whic...

Re: Low pressure nasal pillows just feels so much higher pressure than high pressure full face.

Just a comment with respect to sensation you feel when your lungs inflate. I have many problems with my lungs due to asbestos, when I first started with the nasal pillows it felt so good, it felt like the machine was controlling my breathing. I have plural thickening and scarring, I believe it was i...

Re: Coughing when eating...

You need to see a gastrologist; your problem is in your esophagus. When you swallow the muscles close off your airway. I’m no doctor but I have a similar problem, certain foods and drinks irritate causing mild to extreme coughing. Things like steak often don’t want to go down, my esophagus doesn’t d...

Re: Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) is Ruining My Quality of Sleep and Life!

I take Ropinirole (2) 2mg Tabs per day. They are very strong and make you sleepy so I split one with a pill splitter and take 1/2 at lunch the other 1/2 with dinner and a whole one at bed time. They are 100% effective if you stay on schedule and intolerable if I miss. I can't stand it, they take aro...

Re: Considering nasal pillows again... Taping suggestions

I had problems when I started CPAP with nasal pillows, it wasn’t until I got software that I found the problem. The air was going in my nose and out my mouth. My solution was to tape my mouth, not that simple. 1st I tried a chin strap, tightened it so tight that I sheared off a fixed bridge. Thru tr...

Re: Mouth Breather Can't Fix It - (Anyone use Dreamwear?)

I wear a partial dental plate which I remove at night; I’m missing my top 6 front teeth. I recognized that air was blowing out, not that I was breathing thru my mouth. Thru trial and error I arrived at this nightly procedure. I shave followed by applying Walmarts Equate wrinkle cream to my face; it’...

Re: what should be changed every 6 months?

You quoted me in your above comment. I was replying to your comment that " If I don't need something and I don't select it, I can't check out until I do". I assumed that was a problem for you. But guess I was wrong. This is your statement in this post......"I use Express Scripts for my prescription...

Re: Mouth taping - moisture build up and persistent leaks

I gave up on nasal cushions after a serious trial. Tried taping, chin straps, etc. No luck. It finally dawned on me what was going on. Apparently my nasal passages close up spontaneously one at a time or both. Lasts for awhile. Passages reopen for awhile only to close up again. I figure I'm definit...

Re: what should be changed every 6 months?

Because you can, doesn't mean you should. Too many people take advantage of their insurance and Medicare and that's why our medical care system is in crisis.
And you're probably getting off topic when lecturing other member's choices.

Re: Runny nose/sneezing

Dwood, sorry this may sound dumb. But how do you read the SD card and where is it. I have a respironics machine and I use nasal pillows. Last night I adjusted the chin strap so it rests more under the chin and that seemed to help cause i am not sneezing every other minute and no runny nose. But my ...

Re: what should be changed every 6 months?

Tell your supplier you will call when you need supplies. If they are forcing you to get unneeded supplies, they are taking advantage of insurance and we all end up paying. Get a copy of your prescription and you can buy wherever you want. Find out what other providers are covered under your insuran...

Re: Mouth taping - moisture build up and persistent leaks

When I tape my mouth, I notice upon waking up that the tape is soaking wet ( still in place over my mouth) and there is a build up in saliva inside my mouth. I also notice that areas around my lips can be dried out and look chapped. The tape may be in place but if you have chapped lip you have air ...

Re: what should be changed every 6 months?

It all depends whose paying for it. My supplier has my prescription, emails me every 3 month with a list of what I'm eligible for along with a multiple choice list
of why I need it as required by the insurance. If I don't need something and I don't select it, I can't check out until I do. Go figure!

Re: Fungal Infections & BI Pap

I have many thoughts and suggestions; unless I missed it you haven't listed your machine, mask or sleep data. I can tell you from my own experience early on when I was having problem, I was instructed by the Dr's technician to bring all my equipment in, the 1st thing he did was read and print out th...
