CPAP Therapy and Cholesterol
I haven't posted much here since joining, but I had to share this one: Last year, I had my physical exam and was referred for a sleep study. In November, I began CPAP therapy. A week ago, I another physical, and my cholesterol and triglyceride levels have dropped dramatically! I've made only the sma...

Re: A Suggestion (if I may)
Good idea! I've just added mine in the Additional Comments field. Until and unless there's a place for it, it's as good a place as any. Hope it catches on! My suggestion would be for the forum to add another box in the optional information - one to list the titrated pressure. If that can’t be easily...

I've checked out the Angel strap, and it does look like something worth pursuing...also the Chin-Up strips or whatever they are that take the place of a strap and keep your bottom lip UP. If they work anywhere near as well as BreatheRight strips do at keeping your nose Open, they'll be a big help. I...

Let me clarify...
...I don't know if I'm mouth breathing or not, since I sleep alone and I'm not videotaping myself. I appreciate all the info, suggestions and advice, and I'm certainly going to look into the items mentioned in all of the post so far, but... My concern is what's happening on top of my head when I rem...

Chin Strap Question
So, I'm wearing this chin strap every night https://bb4b1663da2f8a31ea1b-be9b2e315eecc3597ac518f0b34ee0c5.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/resmedchinstrap2c.jpg and to eliminate any chance that I'm mouth breathing, it's tight enough to leave a red mark under my chin. That I can deal with; it fades over the cours...

Re: Problem with comfort gel mask
I'm a newbie on the same mask, and I can say that the exhalation port is in the spot you describe, but it is supposed to be (nearly) silent. I notice that there is a whistling sound and air leaking from the plastic elbow joint abvove where the hose connects to the mask. Is there a vent there I never...

Thanks for the tip! Allergies aren't my issue, but "Runny And Nose" was right on target! Seems a lot of tissues are getting used in CPAP-world. Also, reading the posts reminded me that my HumidAire3i is supposed to be heating the water; I'm not sure it's turned up properly or is heating at all. Will...

Newbie checking in...
Short-time lurker here, and only one month in on my new CPAP setup. My symptoms were mostly uncontrollable daytime yawning and mid-afternoon sleepiness, mild snoring. At the sleep study, I was diagnosed with a lot of hypopneas in REM and at the second "sleepover", got titrated at 14. Got my ResMed S...
