Re: Maximum hose length

Thanks for all the great replies. I will only use 8' hose, it is anchored to my bed with a velcro strap, and I will monitor the data frequently.
Again, thanks

Maximum hose length

I have been using an 8 ft hose on my auto BiPAP machine. I toss and turn a lot and the extra length reduces pulling the machine off my nightstand. I get 6 ft hoses for free and would like to use them. An in-line coupler would cascade two 6 ft hoses. Since the sensors for auto ipap/epap are in the ma...

Thanks, I especially want full data capability. Without data, you are flying blind.

New machine

I am being provided with a new machine and it should arrive middle of June. I will have to live with this machine for the next 5 years, so I want to know a little about it from the fellow members that may be familiar with it. The machine is a Respironics 760 ts. It is being supplied with an 8ft heat...

Re: Humidifier Water - Do You Dump Remaining Each Morning?

I would rather pay a few extra cents by replacing the water every day, than take a chance of getting sick from dirty water. The air flowing into the tank is filtered, but not very well. Even a HEPA filter lets small particulates through. I add, from experience, the amount of water I will use each ni...

Re: POLL: How long do you think you had SA before you 'knew'?

Well, I am 67 and waking in the morning has always been a problem. Children do have sleep apnea, I believe the correct answer for me might be 65.

Re: Cholesterol medicine side effects with severe Apnea

Sorry Nan, but you are wrong. There are exceptions to every rule, and you were probably an exception. Stating that your situation applies to everyone is misleading to the people that may be helped. Nicotinic acid has been studied since the 1940's and well documented for raising HDL, lowering LDL, an...

Re: Cholesterol medicine side effects with severe Apnea

Not all niacin works. The following is an excerpt that should be understood by anyone using niacin to lower LDL and raise HDL. Nicotinic acid, not niacinamide must be used. ConsumerLab.com found that the recommended doses of all the niacin-only products and some of the B complex products exceeded es...

Re: Do You Dump Out Your Distilled Water Daily?

I dump the little remaining water each morning. I rinse the chamber, then add distilled water plus a little extra to ensure the tank does not go dry. There is very little waste and the air being pumped into my lungs is clean.

Re: Should I invest in software?

When I am sleeping, I do not have a clue as to what is happening. The data is the only way to know when all is well, or if there can be some improvement. I have tried taping my mouth, using denture adhesive on my lips, nasal gel mask, ffm, lanolin, baby wipes to clean my face and mask before putting...

If a fly gets in your hose, put a spider in to catch the fly. Put a bird in to catch the spider, a cat to catch the bird, a dog to catch the... gee, this sounds like a Burl Ives song. Did he have sleep apnea?

I logged on to check for an interesting thread about our therapy. Stumbled on this thread and will probably not sleep well tonight. All these words buzzing around in my head will keep me awake. Thanks folks. {:>)
