FFM & stomach sleeper having trouble, help!

I have a FFM (Quattro Air XS) and am basically a stomach sleeper. I have a CPAP pillow (Contour CPAP Pillow High Profile) and I thought it was the one I used at the sleep study. But now I am wondering if it was a different one, since I am having such trouble with it. Since the other brand is $60, I ...

Re: ASV users: is there a "good" leak rate?

Having trouble with Remzzs liners. I tried a single one and got a lot of leaks and felt terrible the next morning. So I tried 2 Remzzs liners and it is better, but I still have leaks and feel groggy this morning. If I make my own out of thicker material the leak is better. But the insurance will pay...

Re: ASV: bad nights before good nights?

Back to the Quattro Air but in an XS this time. Tried using the RemZzzzs but my homemade ones seem to help with leaks better (I'm assuming because they are thicker). I don't have enuf of them to try using 2 at a time yet. I should get some in about 2 weeks to try. Until then I will be making my own....

Re: CPAP & TMJ pain?

Thanks for sharing what helped you! I do wear a night guard that the dentist made (hard plastic). Normally it helps and I only have occasional flare ups. I had wondered if maybe I was grinding or clenching more when I started CPAP. If I am having trouble getting to sleep or struggling with the machi...

CPAP & TMJ pain?

I haven't yet searched cpcptalk.com about TMJ issues. But the longer I wear my CPAP the more my TMJ issues are resurfacing. For those of you with TMJ issues, have you had problems with CPAP making them worse? I suspect 3 possible issues and I am not sure how to tell which one could be the issue. 1) ...

Re: ASV users: is there a "good" leak rate?

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I cut out my own mask liner using thicker material than the sample liners I was given. I worked really hard to get it in place so that I would not tug on it to change the locations once on. I made sure to put it on the bridge of my nose first (FX) then flip down to...

Re: ASV users: is there a "good" leak rate?

There's a trick to fitting the Quattro FX mask: http://www.resmed.com/us/assets/documents/product/quattro_fx_for_her/fitting_guide/1014872r2_quattro-fx-for-her_fitting-guide_glo_eng.pdf Essentially it's a balance between too tight (which makes it leak more) and too loose (ditto). Additionally, you ...

Re: ASV users: is there a "good" leak rate?

I'm not even sure if I selected the correct machine to put in my signature. I have the RedMed s9 VPAP Adapt but there is not an 'adapt' option. Apparently all of my leaks are below that. But they bother me and wake me up. So maybe it's a good leak rate for the machine but not a good leak rate for me...

ASV users: is there a "good" leak rate?

I had my first night with a new mask, mask liners and a CPAP pillow and had a horrible night. Much more leaks than with my old mask. So I was wondering if there is a "good" leak rate? "They" keep telling me (DME and sleep tech) that the machine can compensate for small leaks. I think they wake me up...

Re: ASV: bad nights before good nights?

Both the Quattro FX and Quattro Air come with instructions on how to "fit" them to your face. There is a trick to it. Below are the PDF "fitting guides". Essentially you place the mask at the bridge of the nose and swing the rest of the mask down onto your face. The other thing that is counter intu...

Re: ASV: bad nights before good nights?

I am working on figuring out how to post data. But right now I am having trouble even getting the mask to not leak before I lay down. It is blowing in my eyes before my head even hits the pillow, hence my 3 day break from using my ASV.

Re: questions & tired with new ASV machine

One trick I used to get accustomed to my S9 VPAP Adapt ASV was to start out each night, after lying down with the machine on and mask in place, by deliberately taking some long, very deep breaths in and out. I wanted lots of air intake, with no sensation of inadequate air supply, for about the firs...

Re: ASV: bad nights before good nights?

Thanks. It's good to know that it's ok to not feel great right off the bat trying the ASV. I am currently having a mask "leak" problem, tho. They started me on the "Quattro Air Full Face Mask" and when the pressures would get higher with an event it would leak and wake me up. Plus it would leak air ...

Re: questions & tired with new ASV machine

First off, let me say that I have a new machine (ASV) and have only been using a week. <much deleted> My EPAP is 6, IPAP is 9-21 PS 3/15. <much deleted> I tried a BiPAP and VPAP years ago but they made me exhausted and gave me central apneas so I am now on the ASV. I so want to give up but feel I h...
