Re: Shift Work & Sleep Apnea Procter & Gamble
Did your doc say anything about meds to help you sleep. Ambien was designed to help adjust to jet lag . Its the only sleep aid allowed by FAA. You must wait 24 hrs after taking to fly. If you only take it to adjust sleep pattern it shouldn't cause any dependency. I wouldn't take it every day. I used...

Re: Surly Abond - hoax created by a cpaptalk member
Its been 6 years. Most posters are long gone. The Turkey post was a great opportunity to resurrect Surly Abond to give some encouragement. Then I thought it was time to come clean. Surly was a success and a great inspiration. Have you ever watched the PBS show "Second Opinion" Where they diagnose a ...

Re: PR System One DC cable question
Jeremiah. You will not have any problems connecting to your trucks accessory outlets as long as you arent using a heated humidifier. Just purchase the accessory outlet connector from cpap.com or go to radioshack (bring your cpap to get the correct plug) and get the connector. I had a 1500 watt inver...

Re: Surly Abond - how he went about getting CPAP
RG, You are the most respected cpaper on this forum and have been around for a long time. The purpose of "Surly Abond" was to be a learning tool. If everyone knew about him it wouldn't have worked. Wader knew and thats all. Surly Abond was a purely innocent person in need of cpap therapy in a place ...

Re: Taping Mouth Shut Question
Lucy,
I have a friend that said he was gonna do that a few weeks back. Haven't heard from him since.
I use tape ocasionally. So do others. Just make sure you can open your mouth if you need to puke or have reflux.

Confessions of a CPAPTALK junkie
Hello all, I have been a member of this forum since 2004. I have made many friends and a few enemies. I was often bored by some of the threads and some I didn't want to end. So........ One day I was reading a PM from Wader. We somehow started chatting about a poem , "High Flight" "I slipped the surl...

Re: why doesn't my pressure ramp up above 1?
Make sure the sensor hose is clear. Blow compressed air through it to make sure. Turn the ramp off. Now carefully blow air into the sensor hole. You don't want to blow any garbage into it. Make sure the filter is clean and the air inlet is clear. Blow compressed air into it. Make the blower spin fre...

Re: why doesn't my pressure ramp up above 1?
Is it a 420E? Is the pressure sensor hose connected or blocked? The pneumotach may be clogged. Blow some compressed air into it .Clean filter. Or SUCK REALLY HARD to see if you can revive it. Emergency repair attempt..... A vacuum can suck harder than you can. Does the clock work? The battery may ha...

Re: CPAP machine records alien abduction!!!!
I toll ya I toll ya, Get something that runs on a 12V battery and you would have slept thru the whole ordeal and had the data, Anal probe and all. Now you have to go thru life wondering what they REALLY did. Of course you could have bought a 24v battery or 2 12v connected in parallel and there would...

Re: Am I having runaway pressure with the IntelliPAP?
Hi again, I don't have an intellipap but the literature suggests that there is some sort of adjustment . http://www.devilbisshealthcare.com/files/IntelliPAP%20AutoAdjust%20Clinical%20Overview_LT-2089.pdf Page 8 bottom and 9. Sensitivity adjustment. This may be worth looking into as well as tweaking ...

Re: Am I having runaway pressure with the IntelliPAP?
According to the Devilbis data/ Ads thay compare their unit to the "French made machine" That would be the PB Goodnight 420E. The 420E had additional settings Command on flow limitation, FL1 and command on flow limitation with an amplitude increase. FL2. Some folks needed to adjust these settings to...

Used Tryptophan, valerian root and malatonin for while. Now I don't need anything to fall asleep. But I don't real...
