Thanks for the help with getting Sleepyhead installed!
The Airsense 10 has been up and running for ~3 weeks and the AHI is now averaging around 1.2
My PCP was quite impressed with the Sleephead printouts.

Am I the only one whose needle on his BS-O-Matic is bouncing around?

Are you seeing any OA or hyponea flags around the same time?
You may be like me and getting a lot of SWJ (sleep/wake/junk) clusters as you're drifting off to sleep.

Re: bathroom at night
Just enable the "autostart" feature on your machine. When you remove your mask, it'll shut down after a few seconds and then restart when you put the mask back on.

Re: Installing Sleepyhead
Okay! Thanks, folks. I'm really not all that non-digital, as I've downloaded software for Arduino and numerous other ham radio related applications. I just hate going into an install process and running into unforseen speedbumps and roadblocks. FWIW, the guru who builds and sets up my computer has m...

Installing Sleepyhead
First of all, read my sig line! What should I expect when installing Sleepyhead? Does it take this old goat by the hand (hoof?) and lead him through, or are there going to be some hassles like unzipping files and such? I'm running (don't laugh -- I like it) Windows 7 and Firefox. Thanks in advance.

Re: Air pressure
OP, do you mean the starting pressure is set to 4 cmH2O and the target pressure that it ramps up to is set to 14 cmH2O?
If so, your ramp time may be set to zero, IOW ramp function is turned off and it's going to full pressure immediately.

Re: New hoses
I tell my DME < every > time that I do NOT need or want a new hose nor do I want a new shell for the hybrid ( or other mask ) ... only the cushion and nose gizmos. Package comes and there is a new hose and a new shell and new cushions and new nose gizmos. Complete package every time no matter what ...

I don't know. Just to be on the safe side, I speced the "AirSense 10 Autoset with humidifier" and listed the start and target pressures.

Re: How long do machines typically last?
My ResMed S8 gave up the ghost last Friday after 9 years (29,500 hours). It pays to keep a prescription on hand. CPAP.com had a new AirSense 10 Autoset at my door Monday afternoon. ETA: Mine continued to run at minimum setting and would not come up to set pressure. I think after 30k hours it's not w...

Re: uses for old cpap hoses???
I've been on a ResMed S8 for 9 years and only used two hoses. I do wash them with warm soapy water every week or so and the only reason the needed replacing was the ends started slipping from the machine. The only reason I'm on a third hose is the S8 failed last week, and the new machine came with a...

Re: Going For Heart Cath Thursday, Take My Machine/Mask?
The engraver is an excellent idea. Things, especially expensive ones, do "get disappeared" very easily. Heart cath is no big deal, I've had several, plus some stents. You'll be sedated and probably conscious. The most painful part is the prick you feel when they inject the local anesthetic where the...

I switched to the Hybrid Universal from an Opus Nasal Pillow because of mouth-breathing. After some experimenting with the various mouth and pillow sizes, I find it comfortable, easy to put on, and relatively leak-free. Since the pillows and the mouth pieces are separate, and each pillow size has tw...
