Flonase and HH

I use Flonase seasonally to reduce sinus inflammation due to allergies. I highly recommend the use of a Heated Humidifier (HH) to further reduce sinus inflammation from CPAP use.

Synthetic steroids cannot eliminate OSA, rather, their primary use is in the reduction of allergy symptoms.

APAP's are good!

I was recently successful in obtaining a new APAP w/HH. I went to my ENT and explained a feeling of a lack of quality sleep with a sore throat and chest discomfort from the pressure. My pressure is 14. I too experience walking up at night due to the discomfort of having to exhale against the "high" ...

Thanks for testing!

dsm,

Thanks for conducting the "experiment". I just received my new RemStar Auto and was wondering if it would be louder than my RemStar Plus. It sounds like I'll be looking forward to a "quiet" machine. I wonder if the HH would change things much???

Attention all RemStar Auto w/C-Flex Owners:New User Question

Hi Gang, My DME finally shipped me a new RemStar Auto w/C-Flex. My perseverance paid off!!! Unfortunately, they goofed and set the machine between 8 cm & 13 cm. I was recently titrated at 14 cm! Someone misread the report. Rather than wasting my time calling the DME to request adjustment, do you kno...

Hang in there!

damac100, We've all dealt with "breaking-in" ourselves to the "land of the hose heads". It sounds like you simply have the wrong mask! I went through three masks to find the one that fits my face adequately. A few suggestions, get to your DME/Sleep Doc and have them fit you for a new mask. Do not ac...

DME=Frustration

New Gal, I jut had the exact same experience with Gentiva/CareCentrix. When I called them I was told The "medical review board" denied my APAP request and responded that my sleep study was "expired" (3 years old!). I asked them why would I need a sleep study if my prescription calls out for a APAP.....

Gravity + CPAP + Nightstand = Crash!

Hi Gang, For the first time in 3 years I finally dropped the CPAP and HH while I was sleeping. I guess I got twisted in hose and pulled the entire unit off the nightstand. The funny thing is that when it fell, it pulled me off the bed. What a way to wake up! After the incident, everything seemed ok....

HEPA Filter's

DEISM, A few explanations before I comment on your post. I'm an Industrial Hygienist. The term HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. True "HEPA" filters are designed to capture respirable "dust" (particulate) greater than 5 micron in size. This is about the size of dust mite poop! The stu...

Hopefully getting a new APAP

Hi Gang, I've been trying to get my DME to send me a new APAP w/heated humidifier that my doctor agreed to write on my prescription. I have Cigna PPO. When I called them, they told me to call "Gentiva" who I assume is their DME. This all reminded me of my first experience getting my current CPAP thr...

I just got off the Carnival Spirit two weeks ago and had no problem with the CPAP. As documented above, the tap water is essentially distilled, don't forget a good 6' extension cord as they rarely have a power outlook adjacent to the beds. You'll have no problems!!!
