If I do end up going the cash route, I will probably go through Walgreens - OptionCare. I work at Walgreens, so I get a 25% discount if i pay cash...

Please help with DME "negotiations"
Hello, I'll try to make this long story as short as possible... I had a sleep study (I posted it previously) and my doctor ordered a CPAP machine. The DME had me use an S8 Vantage for two weeks to see what pressure I needed. After that, they told me that my insurance would not pay for a CPAP machine...

first conversation with DME
I just talked to the RT at the DME where my doctor sent the order for my APAP. I made an appointment for next week and asked him what brand of machine I would be getting. He said (without answering my question) that I would only be using the APAP for two weeks, so that they can find out what pressur...

I just realized that I didn't even mention the one thing that the sleep tech told me the morning after my sleep study. (This was before he left the room and went back to the control center...then I had to go find him to ask if I was supposed to just leave or if I needed to do anything else.) Anyway,...

Thanks for the reply Sleep Techy. While I am not trained to read a sleep study, I am able to understand the results. They just prove what I already knew, which is that I'm not sleeping well. The frustrating part is what appears to be the laziness of the doctor. It seems like his report is nothing bu...

Thanks for the advice. I only had one arousal that was linked to PLM. I had 38 RERAs and the other +- 50 were "unexplained". I did wake up twice to go to the bathroom and there were two or three times, within the first hour, that one of my leads came off and they came in to reattach them. I think I ...

Thank you all for your responses. I know I definitely need to exercise and cut back on caffeine. However, I didn't have any caffeine for 12 hours before my study, so would it still be a culprit? I am going to call the sleep center and ask them why I got a "fill in the blanks" report. I thought the s...

Suggestions for first DME visit
Thanks to those of you who have already responded to my sleep study results, from my first post. I've been reading more posts on here about dealing with DMEs, APAP vs. CPAP, data-capable, etc. and I have a few questions. My doctor's office just contacted a DME today, so I should be hearing from them...

Sleep Study Confusion
I recently underwent a sleep study and just got the results from my doctor today. It seems to be pretty vague, and even contradictory, in my opinion. My "regular" doctor wasn't available to go over the results with me (she's battling breast cancer) and the nurse I spoke to couldn't even really make ...
