Hey Jane, Thnaks for the info on the things you have done to make your NasalAire comfortable to you. I tried these Nasal prongs when I was fitted for my current mask and they seemed like they would irritate me as well. I have the opporturnity to give them another try for free and your mesasures may ...

I really don't have first hand experience with this, however I was worried how my two 2 year old sons and my 4 year old daughter would adjust to my new equipment as well. Fortunately they took it very well. Some of the things I did before they so me all geared up was to explain to them that mommy ne...

This is a very interesting topic indeed. Unfortunately Titrator I can't say that I have experience the same thing. If it does happen to me though I'll be glad I read your post because I would have completely freaked out. I have been on BiPap for 2 1/2 weeks and I must say I have had some seriously d...

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Last night was a little better. I clocked 5 hours this time. I was a more determine to stick with it last night and I did hit the ramp button twice when I woke up from the force of 18cmH2O blowing up my nose. I even put my mask back on after having to get up an...

First night on BiPap
I can't say that the first night was a resounding success even though I had high hopes. My hopes aren't dashed. I just wanted som pointers from those who have more experience with this than I do. I only used my machine for three hours. I used the ramp feature and was able to fall asleep okay but wok...

Thanks Rested Gal for the pointer on getting fitted for a mask by a DME. I go into my DME office tomorrow I will be sure to take as much control over my fitting as I can. Did anyone get more than one mask when they were first getting fitted or do you only get a second mask when the first isn't worki...

A couple of questions
Sorry in advance for being so long winded I'm still trying to get my bearings with the whole CPAP thing. Has anyone used the Puritan Bennett GoodKnight 425 Bi-Level. I just read the interview and according to it the machine was or will be available starting in November. If anyone is using it please ...

I called my doc back today and gently insisted on getting a heated humidifier and he hesitantly agreed to put it on the script. He also felt the need to let me know it could delay things and insurance company could refuse that portion. Thanks everyone for the advice and the information to help me st...

getting closer to getting my machine
I just made an appointment with my DME to get my machine, instructions, and fitted for a mask. I go in to the company on 11/30. I figured I'd asked about some of the things I've learned here to see what the probability was of me getting additional features(heated humidifier & nasal pillows). I can t...

Got 2nd Sleep Study results
My results say I need BIPAP and 18/14. I'm still in shock over such high pressures not to mention the cost of equipment. Anyone have any recommedations on good (quiet) machines.
