Re: SURVEY - PurSleep Aromatics for Free Samples

Before I ordered my sampler pack, I tried several ways of getting a decent package price on my own (putting together combinations) that would include 'Calm' as that seemed like the best one for a beginner. IMHO, of course. What happened to the idea of building your own sampler pack? Michael Bower As...

Re: I DID IT!!!

You should fix your profile... it's showing a DS100... which isn't a BIPAP... it's a bare bones respironics machine... plus an Elite II isn't a Bipap... so what did you get? Sorry, should have changed it. Now fixed. I thought any machine that did different pressures for inhalation and exhalation wa...

I DID IT!!!

Hi, gang, I DID IT! I've been on an xPAP for over a year (since Oct 17, 2007). Last night was my FIRST night where I went ALL NIGHT!!! How did this happen? Two weeks ago, I got a BiPAP to replace my CPAP. It is the Resmed S8 Elite II. My problem was that I felt very uncomfortable with the exhalation...

What do these numbers mean?

Hi, folks, I finally got my new machine today and I was so excited, I took a nap I received a Resmed S8 Elite II off the auction site. My settings are: Minimum CPAP Pressure: 8.0 (I assume this is the starting ramp pressure) Maximum: 10.0 (this is what my old machine was set to) Mask: Optilife Pillo...

Re: Newbie questions: 1) c-flex vs EPR, S8 Escape II vs S8 Elite

Rested Gal, further question: I looked at the manual for the Elite (not Elite II) and saw that it only had two usage displays. I then did a search of the forum and didn't get this answered: How do I change the display so it shows more info and what new info will I be seeing? I see your point about k...

Newbie questions: 1) c-flex vs EPR, S8 Escape II vs S8 Elite

These are all sorted of related: Background. I've had (as posted earlier) a basic Remstar machine with no c-flex, no auto. I've still not gotten used to it. My respiration therapist recommended that I get a new prescription and get a machine with c-flex or better yet the S8 Elite from Resmed. Got th...

Re: Insurance denied c-flex type machine - what to try now?

My equipment is: Remstar M-Series CPAP machine (basic machine without c-flex) Optilife Pillow Mask, ComfortGel Nose Mask, FlexFix Face Mask (use the face mask mostly) Remstart humidifier Setting is 10. I have Ramp set to start at 6 (I think). The problem is that I can usually get to sleep but I wake...

Insurance denied c-flex type machine - what to try now?

Hi, folks. I've had a ResMed M-series basic machine for just over a year. I also have three masks (pillow, nose and full face mask). I have never been able to get used to the machine (max about 2 hours per night) so I asked my Dr for an Rx to upgrade my machine. But since my insurance bought my mach...

Re: Can CPAP or XPAP be used in a medical emergency?

We currently carry a CPAP machine on every ambulance. In the state of Virginia (or at least my county), only an ALS person (that's Advanced Life Support) can use them. EMT-B's cannot. EMT-E through EMT-P can use them.

Re: optilfe cradle cushion

This was my first mask and I still use it. What I liked most about it was that I could put it on and still wear my glasses for reading while I relaxed. That helped a lot. But I bounce around between the pillow mask, a nose mask and full face mask. I tend to go with the FFM about 1/2 the time and the...

Re: Can I find my AHI myself on my M series Pro?

The second post on this thread had setup instructions. I have a slightly different model of machine (same manu.) and the setup came up for some values. I couldn't get into 'setup' as the post above describes. (When I did the above, instead of getting two beeps, I went into a setup where I could chan...

Re: Turn off / dim M Series lights?

When I found the lights too bright, I put a page from a sticky-note pad on top. It stuck ok and blocked the light enough that it didn't bother me but showed enough light that I can hit the buttons THROUGH the paper. After a while the sticky ran out so i taped it down. Been there ever since. Michael ...
