Re: Sleepyhead, CMS50D+ and Mac Os X
I'm glad it works. It's not my fix, though. I read about it on the sourceforge bug list for sleepyhead.

Re: Sleepyhead, CMS50D+ and Mac Os X
Bill, there is no fix that I know of, the only thing is the workaround mentioned in my previous posts. 1) delete sleepyhead from the Applications directory 2) reinstall sleepyhead to the Applications directory (download it again if you have to). 3) select sleepyhead in the Applications directory (do...

Re: Switched from APAP to CPAP mode
Then you are OK. If the doc saw the data, he would have seen pressure induced apnea if they occurred. I should say that they aren't really apneas, they are open airway events where you don't breath. And it's not clear cut that high pressure causes them, though in some cases I think it does. the good...

Re: Switched from APAP to CPAP mode
reader2580: too high of a pressure can also cause apnea events, they are a different kind than obstructive apnea. I don't know what kind of an APAP you have, but I'm pretty sure that all of them have an SD data card and anything made in the last few years records a TON of data each night. Consider i...

Re: Switched from APAP to CPAP mode
if you find a more recent article, please post it. I'd love to read it. As for the 2009 article I posted, I can verify that respironics still works as described in the article. I don't know about the others. I don't snore, so my APAP is not able to adjust my pressure effectively. It simply doesn't d...

Re: Sleepyhead, CMS50D+ and Mac Os X
On a mac, you go to the applications directory and select the application. then type command-i and the information window will appear. You will see a check box marked Locked. check it. I also went to the sharing and permissions section of the information window and set the privilege to read only. De...

Re: Switched from APAP to CPAP mode
you might find this article interesting. It explains what auto paps actually do and it's not what you might expect. and all the algorithms aren't the same and all depend on snoring or flow restrictions to drive the algorithm. http://www.sleepreviewmag.com/2009/09/auto-adjusting-positive-airway-press...

Re: Sleepyhead, CMS50D+ and Mac Os X
rustylion -- I'm wondering if you can continue to load your oximetry data from the device after closing and restarting sleepyhead. I found, and it's a reported bug, that sleepyhead will load oximetry data from the device the FIRST time it is launched (assuming you do all the driver setup, connect th...

Re: Sleepyhead, CMS50D+ and Mac Os X
I have never heard of him, but I just checked the sleepyhead bug list and this is a reported bug. Sleepyhead will import the data the first time. but if you close sleepyhead and restart, then it will crash when you try to import it. I'll just wait for the very generous and wonderful person who devel...

Re: Sleepyhead, CMS50D+ and Mac Os X
well, it started crashing again. When I load oximetry data directly from the CMS50D+ it crashes. I know the driver is loaded OK because it worked for a while, so I'll assume there's a bug and just load the data on the PC and transfer it. If anyone finds a fix for the crash, please post. the rest of ...

Re: Daily "Plots Disabled" ??? SleepyHead
I finally found the problem with my setup.
My ~/Documents directory was write protected (read only). As a result, sleepyhead was unable to create it's data directory. once I write enabled ~/Documents and reinstalled and restarted sleepyhead, everything, including the plots, works.

Re: Sleepyhead, CMS50D+ and Mac Os X
I got a little farther, ran into another problem, which is now solved. I loaded and installed the drivers mentioned in the first post in this link. thank you so much for mentioning them, I would never have found them otherwise. Now when I do the import, it finds the oximeter and says it has uploaded...

Re: Sleepyhead, CMS50D+ and Mac Os X
I have the same problem also on a mac. I know my CMS50D+ works OK, because I can use it on my PC. I use the same cable on my mac and when I heck the USB Device Tree (system info). I see: USB 3.0 Hi-Speed Bus CP210-2 USB to UART Bridge Controller so, yes, the mac recognizes the cable as a "device" an...
