Re: Same leak rate, different AHI

Your profile says you have software. Did you get this information from the machine display or the software info on your computer? H, I haven't downloaded the card yet. This is from the readings on the Resmed display. Not necessarily! It might not indicate a need for a change in therapy settings. It...

Same leak rate, different AHI. Why?

This morning I looked at my data and saw a total AHI of 16 with a leak rate of .10L/s. The previous night it was around 5 with the same leak rate. Additionally, to me the feeling of the Liberty throughout the evening's sleep was the same. What factors come into play affecting the AHI if the leak rat...

It's the next day. I upped the humidity, still used a bit of Ayr Gel just around the base of my nostrils. There seems to be a noticable improvement. There were no dry bloody bits when I blew my nose. I think I'm on the right track.

Sharon, yikes! I hope I won't have to go that route. My nosebleeds stopped when I was about 14 or so, and for all intents and purposes has never bothered me since. I'll up the humidity and keep track of things.

Hawthorne (and Babs!), thanks for the suggestions. Here's a bit more info... H, I think you may have hit on something with the weak vessel. This just happens to be the nostril from which I used to get nasty nosebleeds when I was a pre-teen. Had that for years, and then it suddenly went away. (BTW, i...

I actually do use the Ayr gel, Hawthorne. Guess I should have said that. I don't want to be too graphic, but I don't think it was a sore. It was more like the kind of stuff that left over after a bloody nose.

Nasty subject - dried blood in nostril

I've been tooling along with the Liberty for a bit, and decided to try the small cushions last night because I was getting an irritation at the soft middle part of my nose, where it meets my face. Figured it was because the cushion flanges were rubbing against this area. Kept the same humidifier set...

Well, just to throw a little support over to the original poster, there are a lot of non Mk.II Resmed machines out there. So at least from that POV it's still useful. Agree about the Vista thing, but I'm not sure how many people are transitioning to Vista as I am still using XP Pro. I think the othe...

New-in-bag Liberty for sale

I wanted to post it here so the forum locals had the first shot at it. I have a brand new, never used Liberty mask in Small size. This means the part of the mask that covers the mouth is in Small, but the mask comes with S, M, and L nasal pillows. The mask, zip bag, pillows, and eveything is still i...

Technical weenies! Need tech help with ResScan cards.

Long story short - I refuse to pay more money for an ACR38 card reader when I already have a fully ISO 7816-1/2/3, PC/SC, CE, FCC, Microsoft WHQL, EMV certified smart card reader. I also have utilities for this reader which allows me to identify new card signatures. I need the ATR and ATR Mask hex s...
