I noticed a strong salty taste my 1st few weeks. So much so that I thought my gums were bleeding or something. I found out that can be a symptom of a dry mouth which of course can happen with CPAP. I don't notice it much any more.

I read so many people who say that they felt great the morning after their titration. I was the same way. I only got about 2 hours sleep but I felt great the next day. Normally it seems people are initially disappointed when they get their CPAP at home and don't feel like they did the "morning after...

I was going to start a thread on this very subject, but I guess I'll just jump in here: I feel like I've found a good pressure of 9.6-10. Leak rates are under control, AHI is coming down (had an AI of 0 last nite!!) the only problem is my wife says I'm still snoring. I think it's mostly when I lie o...

when I 1st started I had the WORST tickle in my throat. I was coughing all the time and it drove me NUTS!!! It went away after a few days. Who knows if it was CPAP or not, I'm just glad it stopped! Regarding allergies, have you tried Allavert? It's OTC and doesn't cause drowsiness. I've had good suc...

try squeezing your nostrils a little and see if the leaks stops. Just a little, not all the way shut or anything. I've found getting the nasal pillows to really seal is problematical and requires some "aftermarket engineering" (ie, taping your nose etc). Do a search on the liberty and you'll see som...

I have no solution for you, other than to say that I have had similar feelings. Mine is more in my ears, sometimes they feel like they really need to pop, but it's gotten better as time has gone by. My advice, for what it's worth, would be to give it a few nights and see if you adjust. Let's face it...

Have you tried the Liberty? I started with a quatro and then switched to a liberty. The liberty gives a much better seal around the mouth *BUT* the nasal pillows tend to be a struggle for me. But the bottom line is I get lower leak rates with the liberty. CPAP is tough on everyone at 1st, but it's e...

It makes it easier to collect the eggs, if you keep the door closed on the chicken coop. The government counts on us being sheep, we are taken in all year for daily trimming, and we get a main shearing on April 15. We work to make money, they work to take our money. It seems that there are more of ...

Thanks for the replies. Last night, my AI was 1.4 but my leak rate went up to .26/l and my HI went up to 15 something. I do recall waking a couple times to mess w/my mask in the night. Can someone help me out with the whole leak rate thing? What is an "acceptable" leak rate? The Liberty mask has a f...

I *think* I feel a little better, but no dramatic improvement. I was told my apnea was "severe" so I guess an AI of 1.4 is not bad, I've read on here that resmed machines tend to have high HI #'s that can throw off your AHI so maybe I'm doing better than I think. I don't know...this stuff can be rea...

HELP!!
Hi all, looking for some input from some of the seasoned vets around here: I've been on cpap for about 2 weeks now. My RX called for a pressure of 12, but that was causing what I've come to find out were centrals. I found these worse than OA's because I never was aware of waking with OA's. With CA's...

Thanks for the welcome! Took me until 4:00am to get to sleep last night. Once I finally did, I got maybe 4 decent hours in. I actually feel ok all things considered. I'm still pretty confident the liberty is going to work for me with some tweaks. BTW, does anyone know the correct mask setting on the...

Oh man, hope mine doesn't break. I'm brand new on CPAP (2 nights) just got a liberty to replace a quattro. The 2 nights with the quattro were 2 of the worst of my life. uncomfortable, leaks, the whole 9 yards. Discouraged doesn't begin to describe what I was feeling. anyway, went to the dme today an...
