Re: advice re replacing my REMstar Auto C-Flex CPAP

Just looking for advice on a new machine, I'm still using my old reliable tank. To be honest, since I'm not using the humidifier and not even using the auto settings at the moment . . . well, a new machine is likely overkill or not necessary. But then again, I haven't looked at any data in years now...

Re: advice re replacing my REMstar Auto C-Flex CPAP

Thanks robysue, that's incredibly helpful! I figured this had to have been discussed plenty of times, but sometimes it's rough to find the right thread via search. It sounds like each has little things that could be better, but different ones. That always vexes me, when manufacturers get so many thi...

advice re replacing my REMstar Auto C-Flex CPAP

Hi gang, I frequented these boards after I was diagnosed in 2005 and gleaned a ton of useful data and spread some of that data far and wide. Incredibly helpful. I wound up upgrading my machine to a REMstar Auto C-Flex CPAP Machine as that seemed to be considered The Machine to have back then and the...

Re: Billmyinsurance.com

Hey guys, I haven't been on the board in a while and just did a search to try and find out what is going on with BillMyInsurance.com. I read what's been posted and I must admit it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Now that cpap.com requires a prescription, I figured it'd be easy for me to pla...

Awesome!

I always tell people that wearing the Aura is quite like having a baseball cap on . . .

(And yeah, that latest "guest" was me, cool that the software knows to say so when possible).

somewhat related question re the Headrest tube

Is it possible to find replacement tubes for the Headrest? As in, the tube that is smaller than the standard CPAP hose, the tube that connects to the nasal seal and goes up over your head. I'm asking because one of my cats seems to have a knack for biting this little tube when I'm not paying attenti...

I was excited when I stumbled on Pur-Sleep because I'd already been seriously trying to figure out a way to use essential oils with my CPAP machine. I had thought about putting a drop in the humidifier water and had other ideas, but worried about harm to the equipment, etc. The Pur-Sleep may prevent...

catnapper's daughter, I'm so glad that you got in for the study, even if it sucked (or should I say "blew"? But that's the titration, isn't it? With the air from the machine and all). Your quality of life will be so much better after you get the right gear and get going with treatment. And hooray fo...

The Aura has been improved sometime in the last year (six months?) and I find I no longer need "the rubber band trick" to get a good seal. It's also sturdier in general and the straps work for more sizes of heads.

I doubt I would use it for trading masks or wouldn't very often, but would definitely be interested in a section where people could trade interfaces or find people to trade with regularly. (I use Aura/Headrest/whatever in size L, but they usually send both M & L. So if I found one in the same boat t...

I've got a SnuggleHose for my hose but I'm still having problems with rainout. Even when I just use the humidifier without heat (passover) and even sometimes when I don't have any water in the chamber at all! Weird! The problem may be with not having any sort of covering on the tubing on the mask (e...

After a couple of weeks on the CL2, I'm ready to go back to my Aura (now if I could just find a replacement for the tubing on the mask, I could use the one I have. Otherwise, I'll order a new one I guess). I'm just having too much trouble getting a seal with the CL2 and I think I end up having the p...

I do like the looks of that hose setup. Hmmmmm.

Though I am still curious about where I can find a shorter hose. Could be handy on trips, even if I rig something at home.

My PC is dead so I haven't been able to use Encore Pro & MyEncore for a few weeks now (since before I started using Pur-Sleep).

Does the Pur-Sleep affect how well a machine (like the Remstar Auto) tracks your data? Does it make a difference in pressure output?

SleepGuy: You know, it's been a while since I really read about this so you may be right. I know they don't use carrier oils and they use the natural based oils whenever possible, but I think maybe they do use some artificial ones at times (though everything is vegan, that I do know). Anyway. Have I...
