Re: pets
3 cats atm and they mostly ignore the CPAP.. The older 2 have occasionally stepped on it and turned it on accidentally, but mostly they don't pay attention unless it's on and they won't get to close. Our newest addition to the cat side of the family is Turtle. Shes 4-5 months old and we are having a...

Re: A rant
I wonder why the doc didnt possibly suggest tubes. After all kids who have issues with drainage get em pretty commonly. they are temporary though and only last up to like 3 years or so. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tympanostomy_tube
But one of my kids had hers for almost 5 years.

Re: Sleep Apnea and Memory

Am so sorry for your loss. He had heart issues at birth (since resolved) Club feet, and while our body's differ on...

Re: Ladies - protecting long hair.

But I only open the velcro on my chin strap or mask when i wash it. Otherwise i just slip them on and off. but the only velcro near my hair is from ...

Re: Insurance "watching" xPAP users
If your insurance covers physical therapy and you don't regularly practice the exercises the physical therapist gives you, your insurance can't/doesn't stop covering your PT appointments.. Mine did, because I missed 3 appointments(By recomendation OF the PT company! , and didn't have any place at h...

Re: Family OSA
My orthodontist is recommending to pull four of my teeth (Premolar teeth) can this solve the problem? http://www.stopsnoring.com/jawstart.htm Unfortunately no and it can create a major problem later in your life. If your orthodontist has recommended extracting few of your teeth to create room becau...

Re: Poll: Do you use your mask as it came or with modifications
I use the strap covers that came with my swift fx for her, but modified them so they would stop falling off so much.. then added a 1 inch wide elastic strap that sits at the base of my neck and keeps it in place way better then the originals.
And a chinstrap

Dependant upon? Heck yes, after 17 years of CPAP use I can tell you, For me I cannot sleep without it. But my OSA is severe too. Tollerant to it? No, my pressures have gone up and down a bit due to weight gain/loss over the years but that's the only times, and the differences haven't been drastic. N...

Re: What is your machine sitting on?
after a leaky humidifier ruined my expensive bedside table, i replaced it with a 6 drawer all plastic stand from rubbermaid, its the same height as the bed which is pretty tall and works great. might not look the best but I don't care. Never again have to worry if the humidifier leaks.

Re: A Night in Hospital with CPAP
Sorry for your ordeal--I hope things are on the mend. I think it's a good reminder to us all: 1. If you are single and live alone, designate a trusted friend who has a key and can go into your home and get the machine for you under such a circumstance. Better yet, designate two, because chances are...

Re: CPAP and Intimacy
Well since most people with apnea tend to snore tell your partner the truth and wear the machine like your supossed to, and if they have anything to say about, its WAY more pleasant to sleep next to you on the machine then snoring, choking and gasping all night long. Besides like most everyone else ...
