Re: My fight with aerophagia (air swallowing).
Yes that's what it means. Now try opening the top to a higher number and see what the median goes to. Likely it will stay pretty low. With 90% at 6.98 that means it was knocking on the door trying to stop AH's but the machine was blocked at 7. You might want to keep sliding the top number up and lea...

Re: Need a Recording Oximeter for Sleepyhead
I ordered the new model of the 50F even though it isn't yet compatible with Sleepyhead. The included software will alow me to review the record and I can manually compare them. I like the features to much to get locked into the old model.

Re: My fight with aerophagia (air swallowing).
Don't be too quick to set the high so tight. Remember if you have an event the machine needs to go as high as needed to open up the throat. I bought into the set it tight thing and even preached it for a time, but noticed the machine hit the upper limit so I opened it and decided to let the machine ...

Re: My fight with aerophagia (air swallowing).
Your post gave me an idea: use autopap, set it at 6.00 minimum to avoid the aerophagia and let the machine handle the rest. That worked for me. Didn't matter how well I slept if I had to crawl in pain to the bathroom in the morning. Once I stopped the bloat I slept better and my scores fell into ba...

Re: Need a Recording Oximeter for Sleepyhead
Agree Pugsy, when I got my brand new System One it first came on auto-start. A few nights later I made a quick bathroom run in the middle of the night, came back to bed and sleep immediately (meds). Woke up next morning like today headache, thick head, walk unsteady, mind slow and I don't even drink...

Re: Need a Recording Oximeter for Sleepyhead
After my experience last night and others a while back I think if the oximeter as like my backup power unit for CPAP. I go along for a month or so then find out one day a power outage happened during the night. I know when my appliance clocks are flashing in the morning. BTW, that's also why I set m...

Re: Need a Recording Oximeter for Sleepyhead
Thanks, pbriggs. Darn good personal experience review and I'm leaning pretty hard. Love to hear other experiences. Don't be shy (silly me this is CPAPTALK - what's shy about us?)

Need a Recording Oximeter for Sleepyhead
My machine/mask screwed up big time last night and I was messed up until 3PM today. I've put it off long enough so I am definitely getting an oximeter. Since I am decided on the fact I need help deciding which one. Sleepyhead states CMS50(x) but Pugsy says some but not all. I "think" I've narrowed i...

Re: My fight with aerophagia (air swallowing).
Been a long time since I've approached this subject. Rooster (remember him?) and I had quite a go a few years ago. First of all the terminology “meteorism” in contrast to “aerophagia” isn't really important. A long time ago I researched aerophigia and read numerous med papers where patients had seri...

Which New Oximeter??
I have SleepyHead v0.9.3-0 (beta) and want to both get an oximeter and upgrade when one's available with Windows installation exe. SH currently states to get a CMS50(x) oximeter but will that be consistent on new versions? I have a big assumption that the oxi will upload data to SH AIBM (As If By Ma...

Re: power reduction and cpap questions
1. CPAP does qualify for medical preference and with PG&E and rate discount. I've been on both for a few years in CA. 2. For an inexpensive full time back up, I purchased a "JumpStart" Car jumper/compressor/12V DC power supply from Costco for about $75. Sears sell them also. I tried cheap units but ...

Re: Autostart Issues
Hope this thread is fresh enough for me to tag onto. I respect all who give intelligent responses so as long as you agree with me we'll get along fine. For a minute I seemed to have channeled Rooster (God Rest His Soul). My new S1 has a recalcitrant Auto ON feature. I don't care about pushing the ON...

Re: System One w/ Humidfier & Full Data & DC Cord?
Thanks for all the info. If I got it right, I need a DS560HS which provides all I need. I'm sorry STL Mark but I'm getting this through a DME and Medicare so I cannot buy yours.

System One w/ Humidfier & Full Data & DC Cord?
It's time and based on other posts I "think" I want to replace my Respironics Auto M with a System One & Humidifier. I do have questions: 1. Is this still regarded as an excellent machine? 2. I read they have a Standard model w/ limited diagnostics and a Pro with full data. Is that true and if so wh...

Re: Climateline hose tears at cuff
I've used duct tape for a long time. A couple wraps half on the cuff and single wrap below the first and you still have some flex but won't damage the hose. Lately I've specified the extra flexy hose which is the real solution.
