sleepguy1,
My table in the previous post may not be clear--format was lost in posting. The last two numbers on the right are leakage rates. The numbers to the left of the last two digits are pressure numbers(4, 8, 12, 16, 20).

I've had 2 DMEs. The first was terrible (trust less than used car salesman), the second has been good (trust more than most businesses). The second is a small local and we happen to know (though not well) the owners so that might make a difference in the way I have been treated.

I don't know about the humidifier, but you can get 3 videos (introduction, cleaning, and setup) by following the link to CPAP Videos on the entry page for cpaptalk.com. Scroll down the video selections until you find Fisher & Paykel and the Opus 360. I think these videos are also available on F & K'...

I have the original Swift pillows. Supposedly, the Swift II is less noisy. I hope so because the original is quiet loud and difficult to keep from leaking. However, I too like the headgear because of its stability. I also have a F&P Opus 360. The Opus pillows are more comfortable, but I can't keep t...

yankeeblue, Getting your doc to write a prescription for the right machine is important, but equally as important is finding the right mask. It's not unusual for users to experiment with different masks before making a decision. Make sure your DME gives you a trial period before buying. Insurance ty...

JonnyT1971, Your experience sounds like mine. Sleep Docs and RT typically don't tell you about that not everyone takes to the cpap easily. It may take you a while to get used to it. I gave up on cpap from 2001 to just about 6 weeks ago, and my health suffered as a result. Listen to the folks on this...

College Girl, Your stepfather's doctor can inform him of the consequences of not treating his SA, but he can also google "consequences of sleep apnea" or some like that. The American Sleep Apnea Association, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and othe web cites have stuff about SA. Here is a pretty good summar...
