Re: Attn Canadians - Nasal Aire II Test Drive

Hi Babette:
Thanks for your generous offer regarding this trial. I did have a go at the NasalAire II some time ago and found that I did not do will with a prong-type interface. I'm having amazing success with Headrest so, I'm disinclined to rock my boat.

Thanks again!

Re: Anyone using nasal pillows with no C-flex?

Judy: When I bought my first machine I had great hopes for C-FLEX. I was starting CPAP treatment at a pressure of 15 and really hoped that C-FLEX would give me the relief that I thought I would need to help me get used to treatment; no such luck. C-FLEX complicated things as I was having breath-stac...

Re: Anyone using nasal pillows with no C-flex?

I've been using nasal pillows for the last 4 years: Swift, Comfort-Lite, Swift Lt, Breeze, Opus and Aura/Headrest all without C-FLEX. I'm no fan of C-FLEX but I do accept that others like it. Pillows, regular nasal mask, full-face... I don't think that C-FLEX will care one way or the other. Try the ...

Re: C-Flex Affects

Well DoriC... a little over 4 years ago, shortly after I started using a Respironics Remstar with C-FLEX, I posted about difficulties that I had with breath-stacking which I believed were triggered by C-FLEX. Saying something negative about C-FLEX was generally not well received on this this forum. ...

Re: C-Flex Affects

Ahhhhh, the much-loved C-Flex. Although C-Flex is designed to improve comfort, such is not the case for everyone. Do a search on this site for: "breath-stacking." Consider taking a look at turning off C-Flex if: You find yourself waking during the night, and/or in the morning, panting. You find your...

Re: What is the best nasal pillow mask

I've tried many different masks over the 5 years that I've been using CPAP and have found pros and cons to all of them. GumbyCT commented that that best mask for you is the one that fits you -->this could not be more correct. The Headrest is my "best" because it tolerates my rolling around without p...

Piffle!!! You sell yourself short. Sure, someone who is sleep deprived MIGHT make some wonky decisions but, overall, the vast majority of folk with whom I've interacted on this site strike me as intelligent, competent, etc.

Re: Sexual Molestation at the Sleep Lab

Interesting point Rooster... If I had a business and a competitor came onto my property to hand out business cards, I'd toss his butt to the curb. If the owners of CPAPTALK want to ban Mike from posting on their site, they should do it.

Re: Sexual Molestation at the Sleep Lab

I think the majority of people exposed to that article here, would not have otherwise been exposed to it. I agree with this comment -I don't think I would have been alerted to this event had I not read it here. So, I'm glad it was posted as it gave me information that I probably would not have rece...

Re: ResMed H3i vs. H4i Humidifier

jnk's link does indeed clear up some of the confusion. The "clear" tank is being replaced by the "frosty" tank. In addition, there is a third tank which can be opened, allowing for cleaning inside the tank. Personally, I like the idea of the sealed tank -one less gasket/seal to leak. Thanks jnk for ...

Fitdiculous: I live in the GTA and have been using CPAP for about 5 years. I spent much time working my way through the "system" and have lots to share with you about getting the best deal you can. Typing this all out would take all morning and, as I have to get my sorry butt to work, I'm not able t...

ResMed H3i vs. H4i Humidifier

I notice on the CPAP.COM site that: "ResMed's HumidAire 4i is engineered to deliver 30% more heated humidification than the H3i. The humidifier is an integrated unit for use with ResMed S8 and S8 II series CPAP machines. The H4i Water Chamber has also increased in capacity up to 390 ml of water." (h...

Re: Disneyland with CPAP

Sure, I have a suggestion for you: "relax!!!" CPAP on-the-road is a bit of a nuisance, but overall, is no big deal. Disney is size large fun; you're going to have a great time! Don't sweat the CPAP. Take a short extension cord (as was already suggested) and make sure when pack your equipment that th...
