Re: F&P Sleepstyle Auto Sleep Data

Thanks for the advice. It's been a long time since I've posted here as I have been very happy with my setup. The Remstar Auto just stopped blowing with any power probably over a year ago now, and because I would have to pay hundreds of dollars for a technician to open it & diagnose if it is a simple...

F&P Sleepstyle Auto Sleep Data

Hi, I am wondering if it's possible to access the sleep data from this machine at home? Or is it only accessible to a technician? I need a new machine but am used to seeing all the data from my old Remstar Auto using the software & card reader myself. I don't think it's going to be possible to get t...

Moby, I do like the sound of spending less time getting ready for sleep. Do you find with a FFM that you get a dry mouth from mouth breathing? I haven't used one since I first started CPAP with hired equipment (Ultra Mirage) and it wouldn't seal and hurt my face having to strap it on so tight. Maybe...

Hi Beachgurl, To eliminate these sorts of red marks, I put strips of Elastoplast Sport Elastrowrap on my face vertically alongside the nose where the silicone part of the Activa mask cushion presses into the face. If I don't do this I get very red marks which I think is caused by the pressure combin...

If you'd like to try a nasal mask, the Activa is very good for side sleepers. The cushion of this mask has a built-in "pleat" or small bellows-like fold, which seems to absorb impacts caused by moving around on the pillow, so the seal is not lost and leaks do not occur. However, you do need to take ...

Good idea Moby - thanks heaps. Some new ones for me to have a look at. I am planning to get one of the sleep caps to try, as the chinstrap I have now is hot and "rubbery" in the humid weather in Sydney's summer.

Cheers,

I was titrated at a pressure of 14 and used straight CPAP for the first 6 weeks or so with a hired machine. I found it quite a struggle at this pressure to get used to the force of the airflow, and to get a seal on any mask I tried. I did in time get used to it and would amazingly wake to find I was...

Hi Jomac, I wonder if you would be OK with the Activa nasal mask as the fit of the headgear is so loose, the straps across the cheeks may not be such a bother. Also, have you tried the pad-a-cheek padding which makes the mask straps more comfortable? Try a search on this site for these. Good luck, b...

My standard Activa is too big. it comes down over my top lip. In fact, I often think that if it was just a little bit bigger it could be the full face we would all like to see. And the headgear is loose and comes down to my neck area. On the other hand, it seals fine for me and is comfortable - no n...

Thanks for the tip, Blarg. I've been thinking of trying a nasal pillow mask again so the Fess could be handy. So far, I haven't been successful in finding anything like Ace bandage in my area in Sydney. I was hoping to use it as a simple chin strap as people in the USA do, but this sort of self adhe...

I don't know what brand of machine you are using, but when I purchased a Resmed S8 auto with integrated humidifier after using a hired Fisher & Paykel machine, I noticed a big difference in the heating levels for the humidifiers. The Resmed did not even begin to heat the water on the first 2 setting...

A tiny dab of pure lanoline (wool fat) should do the trick.

Welcome to the board, so-very-tired. There is so much good advice and information to be found here. I don't think I would have been so determined to succeed when I started out with this therapy 2 years ago, without reading the experiences of all these good people here. I don't know about the Salisbu...
