Re: Resmed Mirage Quattro causing sore nose bridge
Place the mole skin on the hard plastic area. It is this area that presses on the bridge of your nose. If the top head gear is to tight, the mask too low on your face or the tension on the piece you turn on your forehead is too tight it will press on the bridge of your nose and make it sore. If i us...

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Clean Your Tank?
I dump any left over water every morning (into my plants) and leave the tank to dry during the day. Every two weeks or so I wash the tank and hose in a solution of vinegar and water. I never take the tank apart because I don't want it to leak. I used to clean it every day at first but figured that p...

Re: Quattro--some things never change
I too have been lucky enough not to have the leak at the elbow yet. I read the tape fix before I bought the Mask, and even with the known leak, I bought one. I Have had my mask about 6 months now. I wipe my mask and swish it in Seventh Generation dish soap each morning but I have to be honest, I do ...

Re: Some questions about masks
Welcome! Most likely they will try a nasal pillow and a nose mask first. However, it does depend on the tech. They will try and figure out which works best for you. If you are a mouth breather most likely a Full Face Mask will be tried as well. If you find one works best for you during the study the...

Re: New To The Hose
Glad to have you with us. It does take time to really feel like you are getting sleep. I do think it takes a while to make up all the time you lost not sleeping. It took months before I could really say I felt better. I too, stopped making bathroom trips all night long and that was the first thing I...

Re: Frustrated above and beyond right now!!!
Wanted to welcome you and let you know that you are not alone in your frustration. We have all had our own frustrations especially in the very early stages of CPAP therapy. I agree the feeling of not getting enough air is most likely a low ramp setting which can be corrected. As others have mentione...

Re: 1st night with CPAP machine
I now have the same FFM as you and I too experience the nose discomfort some nights. The mole skin works but first try putting the mask on in the mirror to make sure it is sitting correctly on your face. I find that if it sits slightly above my nose bridge I don't have discomfort. You also might hav...

Re: How long do you use your mask before replacing the seal ?
DSM: I bought my Fisher Pakel 431 FFM when I started my CPAP treatment last year. I have used it for one year today! I have replaced the cushion after 6 months because it started to really leak. My second cushion started really leaking last week so I treated myself to a new mask the Mirage Quattro I...

rooster: Yes, you are correct. Omitting facts or misrepresenting them is considered insurance fraud and could result in the retroactive cancellation of your health insurance policy. In some cases, physicals are required in order to obtain health insurance, but this is certainly not a universal polic...

Rooster: Yes and no. Cobra (The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) is Federal and was put in place by the US Department of Labor. You can read all about it here http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/health-plans/cobra.htm. Now, states do regulate the insurance in each state. Some states like NJ ...

Congratulations! You are doing really, really, well. Only four nights and you are keeping it on most of the night! Support from you hubby is a wonderful thing. I used to wake up every few hours in the beginning and check my mask for leaks. Now, I almost never wake up. It gets better and better. Keep...
