Re: Bursts of air coming out of mouth, CPAP no longer usable

I use the scunci method to keep air from escaping through my lips. I don't even have to cut earholes as some other people have mentioned doing. The first picture shows the scunci headband (https://www.amazon.com/Scunci-Effortless-Beauty-Stretch-Headwraps/dp/B001QX7QHU/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1Y2ID9JUMTPAW&k...

Re: Chinstrap ID

Rather than a problem with leaks, I have a problem of vanity, lol. I don't like the creases I get in my hair with the chin strap I have been using. Of course this chin strap also has significant potential for causing hair issues. I can't complain about my therapy, just looking for the sharpest needl...

Re: Chinstrap ID

I have used this chin strap now for a few nights. It has great promise, but I think I may need a smaller size. The first night I used it I kept dreaming of being constrained. Even so, the part that is supposed to hold the chin and keep the jaw closed does not work well for me. My jaw still opens eas...

Re: Chinstrap ID

I sleep with a chin strap and a headband that covers my mouth but it is not working as well as I would like. This looks interesting and I just ordered one to try.

This looks great! I tried specifying a medical alert tag at bespoke tags.com and found that "medical equipment" was not a choice. How did you get that on the tag?

Re: Machine causing insomnia

I understand exhaling against pressure is a big concern for you. Please tell us your settings. One of them, EPR, can be used specifically to address exhaling against pressure. If the experts here knew what your current setting is, they might be able to suggest a change that would help you in this ar...

Re: Newbie with Airsense11 - SD card question

You mentioned in the original post sending data to SleepHQ. I looked it up and it seems to be someone who will advise you on the types of things that are covered in this forum. I assume you have to pay for SleepHQ services. Before you do that, you might want to post some OSCAR data here and use the ...

Re: Replacement schedules/quanities for CPAP supplies with New York State medicaid?

That is certainly a LOT of supplies. I have no idea how often replacements are allowed by New York State medicaid. Just as a comparison, I can't remember the last time I replaced anything other than filters (every 2-6 months) and pillows (every 6-12 months).

I don't have a routine. Just mask up and go right to sleep. Funny thing is, this also works for my dog. I mask up and he goes right to sleep, lol.

Re: What's wrong with me?

It sounds like you are wary of changing settings since your doctor did not think it necessary. It is still very worthwhile to use Oscar to see what is happening with your therapy. Oscar does not make any changes to your settings. You can use data from Oscar (and knowledge from people in this forum) ...

Re: Sunosi - New Treatment for Excessive Daytime Sleepiness due to OSA

I have used Provigil in the past. I had to choose between being sleepy or having a headache as that is what the Provigil did to me. It was very helpful to let me keep functioning while we figured out what else was causing sleepiness. In that case it was an antidepressant. Switched to a different one...

Re: Maxed out on humidity, but still dry & sore

With my old Resmed S8 Autoset, I used to not get enough humidity even when it was turned all the way up. Turned out my humidifier was not connected well to the machine. I took it off and reconnected and the heating plate got much warmer. After that I had to turn the humidity down some. Maybe there i...

Re: Less than 1 week on KETO Diet - Big Increase in AHI

The first week or so on a low-carb diet (like keto) is typically tough. Search the internet for "Keto Flu" and read about the symptoms. It is not a sickness, per se, but the reaction your body has to changing conditions. One of the common symptoms is difficulty sleeping. These symptoms are short-liv...
