Re: Help Please ? Nose Bleed and Nasal Pillows !
If you do it gently it should only help to irrigate. Will clean out the passages and the salt will help heal and toughen the tissues. But do try to put a little Bacitracin in your nose a couple times a day, when it's not bleeding. That will help heal and protect the sores from dry air and irritation...

Re: Help Please ? Nose Bleed and Nasal Pillows !
I get nosebleeds too. Have for years, way before I started CPAP. Several things that help me... Humidity- I use at least a setting of 3 or more. Ointment- used to use Neosporin, but my ENT dr suggested that Bacitracin works better for some reason. A dab from on the pinkie (or a qtip) and gently rub ...

Re: First two nights and questions
Another congrats on doing so well the first few nights. Many have to work up to where you are. Kudos! I have the Remstar Pro, and it has the smart card. If the dr put that on your prescription you need to raise a ruckus at the DME, or at least tell them nicely. They often have a habit of making chan...

"Why would one want to make life harder than it has to be when you can get help and have better days and nights is beyond me. Life and it's up and downs is hard enough. "

Re: Brain structural changes in obstructive sleep apnea.
This explains a lot. I had a TIA 2 years ago, and the MRI showed lots of older lesions. That was before I'd been to the sleep lab and knew how bad my OSA really was. The neurologist ruled out artery and other problems, and couldn't come up with an answer. And here it is!

Re: Have you had coughs or other lung problems since CPAP
I voted yes. I've had low grade shortness of breath for several months. Lungs are fine, heart is fine. After lots of tests the drs have no idea why. I've experimented with the humidifier. Higher settings relieve dryness, but makes no difference on the other problem, higher, lower or not at all.

Re: Pur sleep
I've been using PurSleep for a few months and it's made all the difference with compliance. I look forward to putting on the mask now. French Vanilla is my favorite so far. Thanks Sleep Guy!!!!! As far as the other problem of where to put the machine for dust bunnies and rain out... I made a little ...

How did you remember all the things you hadn't done? When I get to the end of the journey, it's all a blur. Blur. Hmmm... oh yeah, I keep forgetting to make that appt with the eye dr. What were we talking about again?

Re: Turn off / dim M Series lights?
"Latest mask will be tried tonight for the first time....ResMed Mirage Liberty FF mask." Good luck with that. I went through a few different ones and settled on the Liberty. For the most part it's good. Nothing over the eyes, no sores, comfortable. But I still have some leaking. Since they all seem ...

Welcome to the group! Sleep meds can be a good friend. They can give you a chance to ease in to therapy and let your mind and body start sleeping like it should have been for years. Just follow your doctor's advice so you get the best benefit without getting dependent. And don't worry. Most of us to...

My Remstar made a whistling noise so the DME exchanged it for a quieter one. The hose can also be noisy if it's on your pillow or on wood. One of those velour covers helps. You may want to pad the hole it goes through in your cabinet. Like you, I'm sensitive to noise at night. Here's what I do... A ...

It's fair to say that you have a right to understand your equipment and treatment, and make changes if you want to. It's easy enough to search the net or buy the book to learn how. Also fair to expect the mfg to protect their butts in court. People have a tendency to self medicate. We also have a hi...
