Nose protection

After a year of use of various masks and using cotton balls, bandaids, silicone gel, moleskin, and who remembers what else, the only thing which has worked is the PAD-A CHEEK nose protection and I want to give credit where credit is due

Mask leak with HC 432

I have a Fisher & Paykel HC432 mask. After washing my face, it works well to about 3AM. It then starts leaking from the sides producing the "flatulent" sound. Wahing my face again works to about 5AM at which time the mask and cushion separate slightly at the bottom with the huge escape of air. I sup...

Mask leak solution (at least for me)

I have been using both the Quattro and the Ultra Mirage FF masks with leaks unsolved by silicone gel and various kinds of "straps" ( panty hose tops, head bands worn around the mask). By chance, about 10 days ago I discovered that if my neck and head were extended (thrown backwards), the masks did n...

Mask leaks, continuing

Thanks very much for the very helpful replies. I did the boiling bit and it seemed to be helpful for a couple of hours. Not wishing to fiddle around with the mask again in the early hours of the morning, I used the Mack's rope with perfect results the rest of the night. I think I will reboil the blu...

Mask leaks, continuing

I have had leaking with the Mirage, Quattro, and Hybrid. I am now trying the Respironics ComfortGel Full and the leaks seem to be along the "smile lines" of my face. Questions;1)if I use Mack's silicone to lay on the "lines", does it work best as a bead or as a flat surface? 2) I read somewhere abou...

Soap

What soap might the readers recommend for getting the greasy oils off one's face at night to get a better seal with the silicone mask?

Ultra Mirage vs. Mirage Quatro

I have both and they are both bridge of the nose killers. I don't find any real difference in them except the method of adjusting the mask angle.

Need tips for better nasal pillow seal

I am using the Hybrid mask. I could not get quite the proper angle for the pillows to seal until I tried bracing parts of the mask and the pillows with athletic sweat headbands. They are somewhat elastic and made of terry cloth ( I guess ) and by cutting an indentation in the band, I find that I can...

Facial lines

As many of us age, there is a loss of subcutaenous tissue leaving lines. I happen to have one on either side of my face, from upper nose to mouth, sometimes referred to as "smile lines". My Quatro mask (full face) lies directly on these lines and leaks occur. Has anyone tried botox to fill out the s...

Use on aircraft

With sleep apnea, oxygen saturation drops when apnea occurs. Therefore, on aircraft, if you can't use the device, it is less strain on your heart to sit upright than to lie down, ala. some business and some first class seats. I am going to the UK later this year and some of United 767s have a 110 v....
