Hi SelfSeeker, I wasn't in chat when you were going through this. I'm so glad there were people here for you. I guess us sleep apneacs have long complained about a multitude of symptoms and made to feel foolish for it. But chest pains are nothing to fool around with, no matter what. And look, had yo...

It's more like getting back your life .... you know, that way we were LONG before suffering from sleep apnea. Happy Holidays!

Would you buy a dress without trying it on??? SETTLE FOR NOTHING LESS WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR HEALTH!!! Cheers! Chuck Well, ok, ladies, how many of you order online or from those catalogs and then spend lots of time returning some of them. (not sure what my point is here, but I felt compelled to make...

Ah Liam, You don't want visitors? Say, there's a way to make the money! You could hang onto the cpap (use as a loaner or when there are guests), and charge folks to sleep on your sofa for the privilege of experiencing the Liam humor first hand. Kind of a Liam Sleepover. You've heard of Dance with th...

Liam, Liam, Liam! Here are my top three reasons why Liam should hold onto his cpap machine for awhile longer (not in any particular order): 1. Sleep Apnea tends to run in families -- Liam may find an aunt, an uncle, a cousin, someone in the family who might need one, if only as a backup. 2. He could...

Yes, interesting article, thanks!!

But I had trouble getting past the part where the guy died because his respirator was accidentally unattached. Darn! How horrible! They need a device to keep that from happening!

Thanks for the interesting article.

Hey, no need to feel bad about saying it. Truth be told, I suspect we all feel embarrassed when wearing this thing at some time or another. I bet folks feel embarrassed at least once, sometimes, often, or heck, all the time. It's only human. The key is whether you can get past it and relish how you ...

Wow, snoredog, that's sad. I wonder what the official cause of death was listed as, for your brother and others, whether it was respiratory failure or heart failure or what. I'm sure, as you said, OSA was the culprit. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your description shows just how often this can run in ...

I would say it's a safe bet there are no studies of how many folks with sleep apnea die. Afterall, they would have to review the causes of death for those with untreated apnea, and that would be impossible. But it makes me wonder how those people typically died -- what percent died of stroke, heart ...

Well, I just hope that folks who self-treat without a clinical diagnosis at least see a doctor. Most of us do not develop only sleep apnea. We get hypertension, thyroid problems, GERD, and have extra complications with asthma, diabetes or other conditions which may or may not be related. I developed...
