Anyone know what the replacement schedule for Blue Cross is -- what they will pay for and when? I'm most interested in replacing mask cushions.

eye trouble
i've been having a weird twitch in my right eye lately --- noticeable to no one except me. it's not a big deal, but i have no idea what's up. i am wondering whether mask leak onto my eye could be the cause, even though my leak #s look pretty reasonable. anyone know what this might be?

Re: Dentists vs. CPAP
no doubt they work for some, but not even to order a polysomnogram, or refer to a sleep specialist for some sort of diagnosis as to the causes for the apnea, and how best to treat it, seems wrong.

not that there aren't other cases where they sink big money into a bunch of loser companies, but i've got to believe that the big venture capital firms behind Ventus has some reason to believe this would work for some part of the population.

Re: DMEs are Shameless!
but if everyone is using intelligent machines, then the Aprias of the world would have a higher bar to reach to say they're providing high level customer service, which is their whole reason for claiming superiority to online vendors like CPAP.com.

Re: New Technology Could Replace CPAP For Some
i'd like to try it myself to see whether this new technology would work for me, but my doctor has never heard of it --- guess it's too new/experimental... any idea how i can get it online or elsewhere?

Re: New Technology Could Replace CPAP For Some
looks to be about the size of the breathe right strip, but it's not a strip..... it's inserted into nostrils, and has some mechanism that increasing air pressure in there, forming a "splint" a la CPAP... or so they say...

Re: New Technology Could Replace CPAP For Some
The article says that the manufacturer claims it was cleared by the FDA... doesn't that mean it has passed all clinical trials necessary to get to the public?

Re: Anyone familiar with Servo-Ventilator from Respironics?
All, Thanks for your thoughful guidance. I thought that there might be something about SV that set it apart from what I know about more standard devices like CPAP, but it seems that's not the case. I will disregard the doctor's conclusion that everything is ok, and his feeling that he is doing fine,...

Re: Anyone familiar with Servo-Ventilator from Respironics?
Doug, I'm confused because the report you sent looks like the leak is terrible/out of control high, but you are saying that it was not "detrimental." This is exactly what is confusing me. Here, the leak looks off the charts terrible, but he seems to feel great and the doctors are telling him everyth...

Snoredog,
His Avg Peak IPAP is 11.0; his EPAP is around 7.0. How does that change things?

Anyone familiar with Servo-Ventilator from Respironics?
Hi, I'm asking this for my best friend's dad, not me... he was put on a Respironics SV because of his central sleep apneas, and his doctor seems to think he is doing great. That said, I have my doubts because although his AHI is low at 4.4, his report indicates the following leak statistics: Average...

Re: fumbling through different pressures
Hi --- I actually have a biPap auto also, and was using that because that's what i was initially prescribed. I originally set a wide range --- probably 5 to 15, and let it auto titrate from there. Then i set a small range, and lower pressure --- around 4 to 5, and saw better results. I have the Enco...

fumbling through different pressures
My basic question is whether you can actually have more apneas with a higher pressure than with a lower pressure. I was having bad results with a low pressure, but then increased the pressure, and got worse results than before ---- with leak being constant the whole time. Seems like the higher press...
