Re: mold in humidifier
I have a huge allergy to mold. I had the scary discovery of finding black mold inside the humidifier on the gasket that seals the reservoir and around the place where the hose attaches. The DME agreed to replace the humidifier for me. Do you think that would be enough? Do I need a new machine also? ...

Re: How to get an ASV, Ontario Canada
Hi all, I've been on Cpap, Apap and Bipap for 3 years now. Nothing makes my AHI go down. My AHI is always between 8-11. My machine says I have a lot of centrals. My question is if anyone knows if I can get a VPAP paid for in Ontario Canada? I'm a teacher, so I have good insurance. I called the pers...

Re: Where to rent a PAP device and other DMEs in Markham, ON?
You didn't say exactly what your appointment with the sleep doctor is for. Have you had your sleep study? It's been a number of years since I went through this process but when I did it, you needed two sleep studies. The first was to determine whether you had sleep apnea or not (and also whether you...

Re: Ontario - Online CPAP Vendors?
Hi all, I'm in Ontario, I used to use CPAP Clinic for my CPAP needs, but my insurance company, Great West Life, just delisted them as a provider. CPAP Clinic seemed to have good prices, it's unfortunate that GWL thinks they're fraudulent for some reason. Any good clinics in the Greater Toronto Regi...

Re: Where can I buy a mask without a prescription?
Just yesterday I bought a new mask, fully assembled, from Amazon.ca. In my experience, Rx is not needed for a mask in Canada.

Re: Naväge Nasal Care anyone try?
Has anyone using CPAP tried this thing? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01787L6QY Looks pretty effective! Cautionary note: the Navage requires use of propietary pods. They require you to keep paying them in order to use their already-overpriced machine. On the good side of this, if you google it you can...

Re: Is a doctor's prescription needed for an APAP machine in Ontario? (
Yes, a prescription for a CPAP device is required in Ontario. It's also a requirement to be eligible for OHIP's 75% assisted devices coverage. I think it's very strange that her Dr. didn't give her a prescription and cut her loose so abruptly. The process for me (also in Ontario) was: Family Dr ref...

Re: Creative hose management?
Maybe I missed it but I'm surprised nobody in this thread has mentioned the cozy-hose boss, available from pur-sleep. I've been using this device for about 10 years and even take it with me when I travel. While not perfect, it solves 90% of my hose management issues. https://pur-sleep.com/collection...

Re: Success with Dr. Dakota Collar Device
Could you be more specific? I went to Amazon and "the eliminator" brought back many things but nothing that seemed similar to the Dr. Dakota device. Searching for "snore eliminator" returned mouth guards only. Here's what I ordered on Amazon.com, and I received it yesterday. https://www.amazon.com/...

Re: CPAP versus AutoPAP: are there really advantages to each?
Hose_Head, did you try the regular auto mode or just the for her mode? The 2 auto modes respond differently. Are you looking at Sleepyhead to see what is happening and how long your pressures are at 15? Remember the 90% number means at or below and doesn't give information on how long you were at a...

Re: CPAP versus AutoPAP: are there really advantages to each?
My story: I spent almost 10 years on apap. Two different Philips-Respironics apaps in that period. Apap therapy on these machines worked wonderfully well for me. Ran it at pressures of 7 and 12 for most of this period with 95% pressure of about 8 cm/H2O and ahi's typically under 1. Amazingly consist...
