Re: The phone!
What do you do when the phone rings and you have your CPAP mask on? Because my husband is in the military, we tend to get calls at all hours of the day or night. Normally they call his cell phone. But get this! When the cell phone is busy, they call our house phone. This just makes no sense to me. ...

Re: Traveling with a cpap machine.....
This is a market that I think Respironics (and probably other manufacturers) have missed. From what I've read on this board, few who travel with xpaps are happy with the standard-issue bag that came with the xpap. Why doesn't Respironics et al provide an optional travel bag for the serious traveler?...

Re: Traveling every weekend with CPAP
FWIW, I travel most every weekend to our country getaway. I haven't yet purchased a second xpap to leave at my country home, but I did lighten the load by leaving a mask and hose there. It's only the xpap that I move back and forth. This doesn't lighten the load very much but it does mean that there...

Re: Respironics battery pack with M series
I'm a little confused, I thought the integrated HH with the M series ran on 110V AC and the PAP unit ran on 12V DC. That is why it has the goofy power "block". I have taken my APAP camping and run it off a 12V marine deep cycle battery. But never ran the HH. Am I missing something about the batteri...

What was it about the M-Series that you didn't like when traveling? What was it about the Goodnight that was better?Suz-E-Q wrote:I travel globally for my job. I started out by traveling with my MSeries...that got old fast.

Re: Hi, all. A brief introduction.
If my current sleep doc won't take further action to get me a data-capable machine, I'll definitely switch docs. We'll see what my latest sleep study reveals. Whoa! It sounds to me as though you problem is not your doctor. The problem is the DME. Dump them! They aren't doing you any favours and the...

- Then....I started looking at the db levels and I find the 31db's of my machine to be somewhat loud and my interest got peaked by db levels of 24 and 26 on some machines. So this makes my decision-making process a bit more difficult. Pity party invitation...my wife still isn't sleeping in the same...

Re: Travel CPAP Machine Questions
Ok - I've managed to read and read and read about travel masks and have come to this conclusion....I'm now totally lost. I thought I had narrowed this down to the AeioMed Standard Travel CPAP with HH and rechargable battery or the Intellipap Standard CPAP with HH and battery backup....now enter the...

Re: 4 years on CPAP, and still dealing with sleep hygiene issues
There's lots of good advice in this thread about sleep hygiene. However, I didn't see where any one to date has mentioned the importance of exercise in your daily routine. If you are living a sedentary lifestyle, then some exercise during the day can provide tremendous benefits. It need not be a 2 h...

Re: Intro from newbie in Canada
Hi all - I'm another newbie from Canada (5 days, now - and finally getting some restful sleep). I too have Great West Life as my insurer, and also have the $2000 provision. Do you know if they would actually cover two masks as part of the initial purchase? You never quite know how they will react t...

Re: Another Newbie Hello (from Canada) My cpap chronicle
Today, the word hoser evokes--sometimes sympathetically, with gentle ribbing, and sometimes negatively--a stereotypical Canadian male, typically lower to middle class, white and English Canadian. He is especially concerned with drinking beer and watching hockey or curling. The hoser is understood a...

Regarding "exhalation relief", while the manufacturer does not bill the machine as having a exhalation relief feature, they do claim the machine monitors your breathing, inhalation and exhalation and adjusts to each individuals own breathing. I found it only slightly more difficult to exhale (at 7)...
