Have you tried washing your hose then soaking it in it's normal vinegar/water solution as it you were giving it it's weekly cleaning? Might help enough to be able to useit. If that doesn't work, try rubbing a little tomato sauce on your mask and letting some run through the hose, then washing and so...

Colorado Jan, your husband sounds like a caring and dedicated doctor that wants to help his patients and provide for their needs. But many doctors out there are not like that. As one who's been on the receiving end of doctor's bills and "it's all in your mind" doctors, I have to say that my first in...

When my DME fitted my mask I was sitting in an electric recliner. When we thought we had a pretty good fit, she reclined the chair until it was as flat as she could get it. Then, since I'm a side sleeper, I turned on my side and tested for leaks. I haven't gone in for my second sleep study yet, all ...

They're probably just going to set your pressure during your second sleep study. When your doctor gets the results, he will write a prescription for your machine. Between now and then, do your research, so when you see him, you can talk to him about machines and masks and not feel so totally in the ...

I've been using Flonase for about 3 years with no ill effects. You do tend to get nosebleeds unless you use a nasal saline spray after you use the Flonase. I've also noticed that it works much better for me if I use my Flonase right before bed. It unstuffs me just in time for CPAP.

1. Try taking your nasal spray at bedtime, then a couple of sprays of saline mist. 2. Nasal irrigation has worked wonders for my stuffiness. One cup warm water, about 1/2 teaspoon salt (without iodine), and a pinch of baking soda. Fill up a rubber bulb thingy (you know what I'm talking about!) and j...

I don't need to buy one now that I've gotten my packet from HR! Woke up with a leak last night from my Ultra Mirage and I really can't wait until I can afford to order a Hans Rudolph.

I am planning on buying a Hans Rudolph mask in the near future. I requested information from them and got it within a couple of days. They included a caliper in the packet. So now, when I'm ready to order mine, I know just what size to get. The sellers also have calipers you can buy.

Sinus Infection

Definitely see a doctor and get some antibiotics. I tend to get a lot of sinus infections too and have recently discovered sinus irrigation. I can't remember ever being so clear. Get over this infection and then try it as a preventative. I irrigate twice a day and it really helps.

The fulll face mask is not as bad as everyone thinks. Your respiratory therapist at the supplier should fit you properly and you'll be able to wear it with no major leaks. I was able to put on my mask and sleep the whole night through on the first night. So don't be afraid of the ff mask. If you sle...
