Re: Daily vitamin pill could reduce dementia's effects by 50%
Well, I'll tell you what, my wife is now in her fourth year of Alzheimer's and is mid-stage 6. I am her sole caregiver, and do everything in my power to make what little "life" she has enjoyable. None of the drugs or massive supplements have helped her one iota, and I sure as hell am not jumping on ...

Re: Natural way of dealing with Sleep Apnea?
I find it hard to believe that so many here felt the need to respond to this claptrap. Do you enjoy feeding the trolls? I doubt that Hardyh is a troll, in the correct meaning of the term troll. A "troll" on the internet is someone who drags some "bait" through to see who will "bite" ("Troll" is a f...

Uh, not quite so fast. According to this article: " This is a drug, not a vitamin intervention, " she said. The pills, called "TrioBe Plus" contained around 300 times the recommended daily intake of B12, four times daily advised folate levels and 15 times the recommended amount of B6." You can read ...

Re: cleaning of cushion/pillows for long life
...or is the long-life more attributable to the manufacturer? I use Puritan Bennett nasal pillows, and for the past 7 years have put them in warm water with Ivory liquid every morning. They often sit in this solution for the entire day. My pillows NEVER get soft or lose their resilience, however, I ...

A few thoughts: ...the vent for the CO2 you exhale could be blocked causing you to re-inhale it, and thereby reducing the amount of O2 you're getting ...your pressure setting is too low Since I'm not familiar with either your machine or mask, I'll let those who are add their knowledge to your dilemm...

Re: How do you know if you are mouth breathing?
During my sleep study titration, they woke me up to put on a chin strap. The next morning they advised me that I should always wear one while sleeping. It seemed to work for awhile, but repeated morning dry mouth indicated it no longer was. Initially, I tried tightening the chin strap, but that beca...

Re: Question about the PR system One Auto
I use Adam Circuit headgear with Puritan Bennett nasal pillows and selected the '0' setting.
Since this setting is specific for Respironics masks, I believe '0' is the correct setting if you don't use one.

Re: Sneezing..??
Yeah, I agree on trying the humidifier, and adjusting the setting until you find one right for you. That "dry" air blowing on your sinuses all night can create a real sneeze-fest and rebound congestion. Pass-over humidification without heat works for some, but not me. I know this is a pain in the as...

Re: Resmed strikes again
When I tried to upgrade my machine yesterday I was told they didn't carry anything that has the features I want (feedback and pressure relief on exhale). This tells me that almost all patients just take what they are given.... DME providers and insurance companies who are only interested in their p...

... For each Rx my doc wrote, with specific machine, pressure, DAW and all..... they had fine print reasons for rejecting it. Auto was denied based on medical review 'guidelines' that said Auto was only allowed for Central Apneas, of which I did not have. EPR was denied based on medical review 'gui...

It's actually closer to 1/3 less than the ResMed.
In May, 2010, I paid cpap.com $720 for the PR1 with humidifier.
I guess those shipping costs from Australia are a killer.
