Suggestions for a new mask please

I'm of the opinion that ALL ENT's want to operate, and would plead with you to absolutely exhaust ALL other options before seriously considering surgery. I have many of the same nasal problems you do, but have been using nasal pillows successfully for over two years. My pressure is higher (14), but ...

AHI's, Etc.

Well, here I am as usual coming in at the tail end of a very lengthy discourse. My first thought is that AHI "monitoring" does little harm, and may, in fact, be providing some people with a placebo effect. Whether some feel this monitoring is obsessive and not constuctive may be irrelevant if, indee...

It Figures...

Gee, you sound like a real fun guy to be around...lol! It seems improbable that the air going up your nose is traveling through over 25 feet of intestine that quickly, but I suppose anything is possible. Many people have had problems with stomach bloating with CPAP, however, I could find nothing in ...

1. Since October, 2003...every night & all night. I have so much energy now it's scary...lol. 2. Nasal pillows regularly. Also have a full nasal mask which sits in the drawer as it felt as though I wasn't getting any air...perhaps the pressure has to be higher for these(?). 3. Only one machine...the...

So That's What It's Called!

So, it turns out that I've been using the Adam Circuit for over two years and didn't know it. At the time of my original "fitting," this was the ONLY headgear that worked for me. I haven't a clue what the names of the others were, but they all felt heavy, cumbersome, did not seal the pillows correct...

Erectile dysfunction in sleep apnea and response to CPAP

This post and my reply are from http://www.apneasupport.org: Department of Psychiatry, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas 77030, USA. This study assessed characteristics of sexual dysfunction in sleep apnea and the efficacy of treatment with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). Twenty...

CPAP Cleaning

Well I suppose this post is somewhat akin to "bringing coals to Newcastle" as soooo much has already been written on this subject, but as a newbie here I could not resist throwing in my $.02 worth. The following represents my approach to cleaning over the past two years: Daily - nasal pillows soaked...

I just was doing a scan of this incredibly long thread to see if there were any photos I could use in the updated yearbook soon and found a photo of Amigo, who is supposed to be in his sixties. Now, either he is lying about his age and is NOT in his sixites or he has submitted a younger photo, but ...

Humidifier Leaking

sumguy55, I have a Remstar Pro C-Flex with integrated humidifier, and have been taking the water tank apart for weekly cleaning for over two years. Only once did I have a leak, and that was because I did not press down hard enough when I put it back together. dsm stated it very well when he said, " ...

Age Poll

63 (64 in January, 2006).

Just joined this AM, and it appears there are many nice people here to share information with. Initially diagnosed in 1999, but unable to tolerate CPAP until nasal pillows were made available to me in 2003. I've never felt better!!
