11 days post op

Its been 11 days since by septoplasty and Pillar procedure. I am nearly fully recovered. I'm breathing great out of my nose. I am performing saline flushes twice a day with a saline flush kit. I have a little numbness in my upper teeth which per the doc was caused by a lot of bone work he had to do ...

Yes, the doc recommended taking a full week off before returning to work. Right now the slow oozing from the nose is the largest annoyance. The pain is pretty mild actually as long as I avoid touching my nose.

Just wanted to drop everyone a quick note to say that I'm recovering well from yesterdays surgery to correct my deviated septum. There is not a lot of pain at this point. My throat was really soar yesterday from the anesthesia tube (I think). I was out of the surgery center around 10 am. There was s...

I'm scheduled for DS, Turbinate coblation, and Pillar this coming Monday (April 7th). I plan on taking the entire week off. I've been told the ENT will take the splints out the following Monday. Based on what I'm reading, I may be able to get the splints out sooner. I will check with the ENT towards...

It's good you feel more rested. I would stick to 10 for a few more day, and try to control mask leaks and mouth leaks. One change at a time makes things clearer, and you have to get used to sleeping like this. We'll be smarte in a few days with more data. O. Will do. I have my mouth taped shut so t...

CPAP @ 10cm Data

As suggested, I tried a straight CPAP last night at 10cm. I woke up pretty early with a lot of nasal congestion but felt like I had some decent sleep. The Encore Pro report is as follows: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3236/2384273227_e73e271db8.jpg Should I try CPAP = 10cm again this evening or som...

Re: APAP Data

. . . It appears that the machine chases an apnea and I remain at a high pressure which causes more apneas. It appears that the correct pressure for me is 10 which only resulted in an AHI of 1.8. . . . IMO, you’re probably reading the data backwards. The machine is at 10 because you’re having few s...

How is your leak rate. I saw similar things, but it was caused by my leak rate skyrocketing once the pressure hit 12. If I tightened my mask enough to stop the leak, it was so tight that it was uncomfortable and I couldn't get to sleep. Look at the graphs starting on page 4 to see how your leak rat...

APAP Data

Looking at the following data, I think the 90% pressure doesn't work for me. It appears that the machine chases an apnea and I remain at a high pressure which causes more apneas. It appears that the correct pressure for me is 10 which only resulted in an AHI of 1.8. Please help me interpret the APAP...

keep in mind those 2ea Central Apnea that showed up on the lab report, most likely still exist at home during sleep, the Remstar is not smart enough to detect only 2 ea, there has to be 3 or more in a row before it decides it screwed up and counted those last 2 apnea as obstructive. where they fina...

I think you did better at 8.0 cm, at 9.0 there were too many hypopnea but then they dramatically increase at 10 then settled down as you got to 11 cm. While we don't have EEG data (like we could read it anyway), those centrals seen may be meaningless if they were seen at the onset of sleep, 2 is no...

Please help me interpret my titration analysis

I recently completed my 2nd sleep study. First one was a split with minimal time on CPAP. Based on the results of this study, the doc raised my pressure to 11.0. I'm having difficulty understanding why? Please help me with the results. Thanks, Sam http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2302/2372313094_2a8dd...

If your insurance is like MY insurance, they like to hear about these things ahead of time......and I don't want any surprises if they're not going to pay for it, either. Sounds silly and needless at this point to me...... I would think that if you COULDN'T find the right pressure with the APAP, th...

Just a few questions..... Didn't you have one before? Is this one going to be a "freebie"......since they apparently didn't get the other one right? Is it (pre) approved through your insurance? (if your insurance requires that type of thing) WHY don't they just use the data from your "APAP/Auto" to...

So I heard back from the Doc. He wants me to do another sleep study. This time all night with CPAP to verify the correct pressure for me. Seems like the conservative approach but I guess I can't argue with it.

Opinions welcome!
