Re: SINUS PROBLEM

At one time I had sinus problems. Because of these I use a fullface mask. I just slightly part my lips so the pressure can enter orally. Almost 18 months ago I had pollops removed from my left nostril. This cleared my breathing problems through my nose and made a definite difference. I still use a f...

Re: Nares are bears and full face blues...

I uses to use the Quattro and liked it. Unfortunately I would often move or change position during sleep and break the seal on the mask. When that happened it had a tendency to vibrate or leak badly. I never knew it but it would wake my wife especially when it vibrated. I changed to a Respironics Fu...

Re: Newbie still has AHI in the teens on CPAP

As a RPSGT and a hose head for over 3 years, maybe 4,(my Dad used to say I had a hose nose) I can appreciate your situation. It does take some time to get used to CPAP and some take longer than others. One thing that has been brought up and is very true is "Sleep Hygiene" . It is amazing what people...

Re: RPSGT who likes to follow this forum

I to am a Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) who for quite some time has been following this forum (although rarely make a post). I like to come here to see what CPAP users really go through once they leave the sleep lab. It's amazing what I gleam from here vs. what the patient will t...

Hey Bret, what are you using to make filters with. I have been trying to find suitable material but so far have not been able to find anything I like.

Re: Sleep Apnea and Football players?

Oscar98, have your son checked out by a Sleep Specialist. He is showing some classic signs pointing to possible Sleep Apnea. Does he snore? Does he feel unrefreshed after waking? Falling asleep easily in car can also be a sign. And a big neck can be a contributing factor into Sleep Apnea.

Re: Is my ASV therapy working . . . or a wrong diagnosis?

John, I to wear a Quattro. I started out with a standard medium but found my leak was hard to get it to stabilized. I switched to a standard small and now my mask leak is better controlled and much more stable. Of course as we sleep we have no control over how our mask may leak because it gets bumpe...

Go to myresmed.com. Look for Full Face Masks, select Mirage Quattro. This brings up a .pdf file that you can print and cut out a templete to help you find the size you need.

I to am a RPSGT and what irritatedRPSGT has posted is good info but I can see the other side of the coin also. My wife just recently started CPAP and is having one heck of a time getting used to a mask. She is extremely lucky as my employer has lent her masks of varying types to try and find one she...
