No air provided if no inhalation on BiPap?
A DME told me that the bipap does not work if one does not inhale. If I hold my breath on bipap, it never starts up again. I tried it and it does not begin again until I inhale (well, as long as I could hold my breath). One of my studies showed some minimal CSA and so I found what DME said to be sca...

Piece of mask pops off.....
Hi! I haven't been here for a long time. I've logged over 4,000 miles (uh, hours) on my bi-pap.....am compliant, for sure. Problem is that the last two ultra mirage nasal masks have become unuseable for the same reason. It is the only mask I have been able to wear, so it is important to me to find o...

At least........
you got something. I have the Pro 2 and asked my DME to read it. They say they don't have the software. Wha? I've been on bipap since mid-February and no one, not once, has checked the card. I saw the pulmonologist for the first time since Feb. and he didn't even ask if I am compliant let alone ask ...

Why are we doing this, again?
Sigh. I am doctor-challenged. Saw cardiologist yesterday and got a good report on echo. Great news. I, apparently mistakenly, understood that apnea can cause heart problems, strokes, heart attacks, and sometimes death. The cardiologist assured me that apnea does not affect the heart at all. Isn't th...

BiPap Pro2 with bi-flex set at 12/3. I am not having any problems with the settings at this point. I just found it hysterical that with apnea that changes when it good-and-well-feels-like-it that the doctor is comfortable with helping patients 80% worth. And if the Big Apnea (just a joke) comes duri...

Is this funny or what?
Saw sleep doctor (pulmonologist) yesterday. I "innocently" asked if he is comfortable with set pressure level on bipap when my 3 sleep studies within 4 months were so divergent (1st, severe; 2nd none; 3rd moderate). He said, no, but doctors look at things this way: if they can help a patient 80%, th...

I thank you for your responses. I was trying to point out that being sad over loss is a part of life. I used my "losses" (much smaller than many, for sure!) to illustrate. It's not wrinkles, by the way. It is those red areas. I don't mind wrinkles. I was delighted when I turned 50. Half a century, f...

Sympathy......
I realize it is not PC (in this case, psychologically-correct) to care how our faces appear. But, all my life, when I look in the mirror, there it is. Seems like an important part of me. And, I'm satisfied with the way "I" look at 61. Only been on cpap since 9.4 though. I do see changes. It does den...

Hi. I'm 25 lbs. overweight. 3 years ago was 86 lbs. overweight but started counting calories on a good, healthy diet and lost it. Sigh....have gained 25 lbs. back. Will work on it. Hypothyroidism. Fibromyalgia. HBP (controlled with medication). High cholesterol. Chronic bilateral epicondilitis (sp?)...

Oracle 452 Oral CPAP mask?
Does anyone have an opinion of this mask? It seems it would solve the problems for mouth breathers (which I very occasionally am, and those times are most uncomfortable). I've been thinking of ordering it, but would like to know members' opinions. Thanx......Sharonious
