Re: are you fully recovered after CPAP or still tired?Poll pleas
Prior to treatment, I was dozing behind the wheel whilst driving home from work. I dont have that problem at all after treatment. Yes, I'm still a little tired, but without treatment I suspect I would just be a bunch of flowers at the side of the freeway..

> It states on the bottle "not for Human consumption" and "not to be used in theraputic devices". You stated some things that were printed on the bottle, but you didn't specifically say whether the words "distilled water" were printed on the bottle or not. Please clarify. Your first sentence simply...

Distilled water for humidifier?
It suggests I use distilled water in my humidifier, so off I went to the chemist/pharmacist and grabbed a bottle. It states on the bottle "not for Human consumption" and "not to be used in theraputic devices". At this point I asked the pharamacist if this was ok for a CPAP humidifier..I was met with...

Quest for the AHI under 8..
Probably a silly question.. Can *everybody* get under 5.0 AHI?? I can't seem to get under 8.. I managed to find the prefect mask for me and getting really close to zero leaks consistanly (Nasal Aire II) I started with a pressure of 10 worked up slowly (many nights) to a pressure of 14 and it didn't ...

I feel like I'm going backwards..
My AHI is now averaging around 8-11 every night, Thats way better then it was before CPAP, but my AHI has increased from 4-5 over the last 2-3 weeks. When I first went on CPAP in early February, I felt amazingly well, gone were the splitting headaches EVERY morning. But as my AHI has slowly increase...

Hi Julie and alnhwrd I don't *think* I'm mouth breathing, but I'll try taping for a night to make sure. I dont think a full face mask with work for me unless I shave off the goatee Yeah, The machine is set for the Swift II, I think the Swift II isn't really for me, no matter what I do I can't stop i...

Tweaking time!. Newbie Questions ;)
I've been on the new machine now for 11 days and my average AHI for that period is 6.2. (highest 11.5, lowest 4.3 but only that once under 5.0) I'm currently on a fixed pressure of 10, and my leak rate average is 1.2 L/min How should I go about tweaking?. Should I bump myself up to 11 and leave it t...

I start out with zero leak rate, and it stays like that for the first few hours I'm asleep. but after that.... My 'median' leak rate is around the 11 mark, maximum 37.2!.. I've been sleeping with the hose down, I'm going to try it tonight with the hose up to see if that makes any difference. I suspe...

CPAP mode on the S8
Apologies, More newbie questions! After being diagnosed with a AHI in the 50's and during a four week trial of CPAP, I've gone out and purchased the Resmed S8 II Spirit & software.. This is a similar machine to the Vantage sold in the US. I also bought the Swift II mask. I had trialed a fixed pressu...

Question/Problem re: Resmed S8 Series II Spirit
Finally bought my own machine today.. I went for the S8 Spirit II (I think these are called the Autoset Vantage in the US??) My question is: When I turn the unit off it continues to blow a small (but obvious) amount of air. I tried leaving it for around 30-40 minutes and went back and it was still b...
