Re: OT - Cheap over the ear headset that works for Kindle
Many years ago (meaning decades) I got what was termed a 'pillow speaker' with a clock radio I purchased. The speaker has lasted longer than the radio. Basically a small 2x3 flat speaker you placed under your pillow. With the sound properly adjusted, you can just hear it when laying on the pillow, b...

Re: REputable Internet DME
I have used our hosts to purchase a travel machine plus several masks over the years. I purchase out of pocket and file for reimbursment through my FSA. I have never had an issue with them reimbursing me for either the machine or masks (assuming you still have envough in your FSA balance of course.)

Re: Are All DME's Bad?
Well, I had a good one for several years. While I didn't like their pricing, they were effective, responsive, and knowlegable. However, I retired in June and they advised me that since I now belong to Medicare that they can no longer provide any service. It appears they did not win the 'Medicare lot...

If the velcro is causing discomfort on your head, you might want to investigate the papcap. No velcro touches your skin.

Re: How do you sleep with your mask with a head cold?
While my method may not work for anyone else, I've found that if I can use some OTC (nyquill, or anything else) that will give me 10 minutes of clear airway, my nasal mask will keep the passages open throughout the night. The trick is getting that 10 minute window (it doesn't take me long to fall as...

Re: Time to choose my machine
I'm in the same boat. My M series auto is 5 years old and I can now replace it. I am getting some 'feedback' from the spouse that my machine is becoming noisy to her. So of the two, is there a significant noise difference an actual use?

Re: Behind the Ears Headgear?
If the headgear is really giving you a problem - here is an out of the box possibility. Use a papcap with your mask. The new 'caps' have a method that allows you to attach the mask directly to the chinstrap and bypass the headgear. I don't know if it really works, but on their website they say: "The...

Re: Discovered my DME is Out of Network-Losing my PR System One
since the doctor had to write a perscription for the first DME, they should be able to provide a copy of that perscription. You can then take that script to any DME you choose. That should not require a new sleep study nor for the original sleep study to be provided to another DME.

Re: new to cpap - have a cold - what to do?
For me, the issue is having my nasal passages clear when I mask up. The pressure seems to keep things open all night. I just need to be able to breath when I go to bed. Once the air go away in the AM, things close up fairly quickly. I use a nasal pillows mask.

Re: My son the trooper
First, and most importantly, you son is a real trooper and deserves love, hugs, and praise for his attitude and effort. Second, have you tried disabling the smart on/off? Have him manually start and stop the machine. That would eliminate at least that possibility. At 8 years old he should be able to...

Re: Going on a cruise in January
Been to Alaska twice using Holland. The frist trip I requested distilled water through the agent, and a gallon jug was waiting for me in our room. It was expensive vs purchasing at your local grocery (don"t remember the cost - about 2-3 bucks). The second trip I used tap water. I just cleaned the hu...

Re: DME wants my data card. Not sure I believe them.
Only issue I have had was when the DME sent me a new card, they 'locked' me out of the good stuff, so I have to go back in and reenable it.

Re: Chinstrap with Opus 360
I use a '360 along with my papcap. Loce the 360 and it is my primary mask. I put the papcap on, atttach the velcro chinstrap, and then don the mask. I initially had to adjust the headgear straps to accomodate the additional thicknesses of the chinstrap. It is rock solid all night. In the event that ...

Re: POLL: Machine Pressure is not accurate?
I tend to be of the same mind as LinkC - as long as it works, who cares what the number on the screen shows. I do find it interesting though that my doctor has only looked at my machine once - the first visit after titration. He has never shown any interest since. And when he did look at the machine...

Re: 1st Post; New to CPAP; Swift FX Issues
While I have never used the zest as I am completely satified with the 360, I would recommend that you leave everything loose, lay down, and turn on your machine. Then slowly adjust the headgear so that leaks are eliminated, It should NOT turn you into a 'Miss Piggy'. In my instance it required me to...
