Re: Cpap clening machines recomendations please
Good to hear these comments. I was always told to wash everything in soapy water along with the hose. That is why I became lazy. LOL. I do occasionally wash the water chamber with vinegar. So if I use wipes to clean mask that is all I need to do? Any specific wipes?

Cpap clening machines recomendations please
So I have done some research here and can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for. Specifically, are there any "automatic" cpap cleaning machines that are legitament for cleaning the masks and such? I have used a SoClean for years and have discovered here that it does not in fact work as advert...

Re: Night sweating after 5 years on CPAP
Thanks for all the replys.
Nothing new really has happened but I do have diabetes,,,that seems reasonable that blood sugar levels are going high. I'll check that out. I just thought maybe after a period of time that you need to move your pressure up as you get "used" to the previous pressure.

Night sweating after 5 years on CPAP
Been doing CPAP or 5-6 years and for the most part has been very good. Lately I have been having night sweating again. Would this be an indication of needing a new sleep study? I am at 11 right now using straight cpap. I do have an M series that will do auto, should I try that? What do you think?

Anyway I have about 8 small nasal pillows for the Mirage Liberty mask. I would like to trade for either Meduims or Large.

Re: Septoplasty/Turbine Reduction & Sleep Apnea
I had it done about a year ago and it helped a lot. You should probably either stay in the hospital or have someone to dote on you the first day. I stayed home form work a few days just because of the drainage and the guase under my nose. It really wasn't too painfull for me as I did not have to use...

Re: Floating white "scum" in my humidifier
Wonderfull responses!
I'll clean me chamber more often and see what happens. Normally I take vinegar and just shake the crap out out of it and then rinse with water and let air dry. I'll also change the filters more often.

Re: Floating white "scum" in my humidifier
Which filters are you referring to? The ones in the back of the cpap machine? I change them every 2-3 months or so. Usually rinse the foam one out and change the white one.LinkC wrote:I'd say it's mold spores. How often do you clean/change your machine's filter(s)?

Re: Floating white "scum" in my humidifier
Thanks for the responses. If there is "nothing" in distilled water, then what the heck is that stuff? Seems like I only get that stuff under certain conditions.

Floating white "scum" in my humidifier
I have begun to get floating white scum or something in my humidifier. I washed it with vinegar two weeks ago and it has come back. So does anyone know what that might be? I use distilled water and just add to it when needed. Is thsi because o fthe summer temps or old water? I usually buy 3 gallons ...

Just wondering what you guyswith meters think about it.

Re: Nasal Surgery done
I had this done Dec 30 and can say that I would do it again. Very little pain, more like discomfort. I didn't even use much of the drugs for pain they gave me. Bleeding for a few days wasn't much fun. I would suggest being off work or taking it easy until they take the plastic stents out. My experie...
