Does apnea 40s mean that he would have to have a 40 second period of apnea b4 the machine kicks in and makes him take a breath?

I don't have the card reader or software. Do you have to buy the card reader from respironics or could I get it at Radio Shack?

DSM - I doubt the sat monitor bothers him that much. U could set a bomb off next to him and he would sleep through it. His mask has a small tear that I noticed this morning. We talked about the leak/snore (I say its snore, hubby says its a leak) issue with Doc 1 today. She thinks we are probably both right - some snoring and some leaking. She has a theory and wants him to try some new nasal mask.
