Re: What do you do with all your CPAP stuff during the day?
I sometimes leave it out on my nightstand, but I try to put it away. I hang the hose over a hook in the bathroom and put the machine and mask in a single plastic pull out drawer unit that I put on the floor on the other side of the nightstand. Setting it all back up at night is a pain, but... I ofte...

Re: Blood Pressure Benefit!
Borderline HBP was actually one of the reasons my doctor sent me for a sleep study. I had a 24 hr. BP monitor and overall it was ok but at night it did not go down as it should, leading the dr. to suspect that apnea may be preventing it from going down. It did improve after I had been on cpap for a ...

Re: RLS - any non-medication treatments????
I was not diagnosed with RLS, but I think I have/had a mild case. They did diagnose PLMD, though. The dr. said low iron or low B-12 could contribute to that. Turns out my iron was low, so I was on supplements for that for a while, and it seemed to help what I consider the RLS symptoms. Since it was ...

Re: Will I lose my license?
I also live in Ontario. I had lost my license (as in misplaced) and when I went for a replacement I worried if my doc had sent a letter to the Province (It was never mentioned to me.), and if I would have to note on my application that there were changes in my health status. I really didn;t want to ...

Re: Vitamin B for Memory Loss, Headaches, and Brain Fog?
When I had my sleep study and was diagnosed with mild PLMD along with the apnea, the dr. suggested a deficiency in B12 as one possible cause for the PLMD. My levels were ok when they did a blood test, though. But low iron was another factor and that was a bit low so I was taking extra iron for a whi...

Re: Quattro - 2 fixes
These ideas all seem great. I use the silicone putty all around the mask usually (unless I am too lazy to roll out an entire length for that, then I just use it around the bridge.) What does putting the putty under the seal and clip up by the bridge accomplish? (Not criticizing, just wondering!) I a...

Re: cold nose
I have the Quattro FFM. Most of my nose is okay, but I find the area near the bridge of my nose to be very bothered by the cold air. I have my humidifier set at around 3.5 or 4. It was ok during the summer, but now I guess I need to use a higher setting. That heated hose sounds like a good idea, too...

Re: Question about using Mack's Ear Plugs
I roll the pIug into a snake. I think I use more than most people..I usually end up using 2 plugs to go around the whole perimeter of the seal. Sometimes I use a small piece and just put it along the bridge of nose area. I find rolling it out to be quite a hassle, myself. *I* am too lazy to keep doi...

Re: Question about Quattro
Dori, have you tried using the silicone putty (like Mack's brand)? I have the Quattro FFM and was having a lot of leakage problems and tried the putty as suggested on this site, and it has helped a LOT. Sometimes I put it all around the mask and other times I get away with having it just on the brid...

Re: VitalAire Not too happy with them.
I also live in Ontario and used VitalAire..maybe the same one (Derry Rd.) ? They did all the filing for the ADP for me. I had a balance (I forget what it was exactly) and submitted it to our private health ins. and they covered it. I am satisfied enough with the machine I got but probably would have...

Re: Sleep and Decaffeinated Coffee and Tea
I used to consume several cups of caffeinated coffee each day along with a few cans of Diet Coke. My dr. told me to cut out the caffeine so I slowly switched to decaf. I would replace one scoop of reg. with one of decaf when I made the coffee and then after a few days replaced another scoop, etc. No...

I mentioned above that I usually get 5-6 nites of use before having to re-do the Macks. I forgot to mention that during the day I use a small plastic baggie to cover just the front of the mask to help keep the Macks from drying out. The back is still open to air out the mask so some does get to the ...

I have been finding that I can get about 5-6 nights from an application. I then remove it and squeeze it back into a ball and then re-roll it..I agree that that is a real pain. I hadn;t thought of washing it..but have only been using it about a month, and I have a couple pkgs of it that I alternate ...
