In addition to dropping your upper pressure to reduce leaks, you should consider raising your lower pressure so that it's closer to your optimal pressure. That way the machine won't have to ramp up so much to catch up with your apneas. It will only raise pressure so fast, so the closer it is to an e...

How is your leak rate. I saw similar things, but it was caused by my leak rate skyrocketing once the pressure hit 12. If I tightened my mask enough to stop the leak, it was so tight that it was uncomfortable and I couldn't get to sleep. Look at the graphs starting on page 4 to see how your leak rate...

Not only is A-flex more comfortable, it lowers my AHI as well. I got my AHI down to an average of 1.0 using auto/a-flex. I noticed I was spending most of my time at 10cm, so I thought I'd try going back to CPAP mode @ 10. My AHI jumped to 2.5. Of course when I went to CPAP mode I also had to go to C...

What of Hypopneas? My daily AHI has settled in at about 3.5. It is 99% HI's though...my AI this morning was 0.2 for example. What can one do to lower Hypopneas and thus further lower ones AHI? Anything? The problem is the machine can't really measure Hypopneas. The definition of a Hypopnea is reduc...

Congratulations on three levels: First for educating your self and learning how to take control of your therapy. Second for standing up to the DME and getting the machine you want and need. Third for educating the DME so that those that come after you will get better equipment. JOB WELL DONE!!!

5.0 is what is consider the maximum acceptable by the medical community, but to most people here it is unacceptable. In all likelyhood you can cut that in half, possibly getting it below 1.0 if you take control of your treatment. The first thing you're going to need is a smart card + reader + softwa...

First thing I'd suggest is to get the smartcard, reader and software for your machine. That way you can really measure what's working and what's not by looking at how various settings effect your AHI. I'd set it for auto 10min 20 max a-flex @ 2. If you have the software, you can see where your sweet...

With the machine you have running in the auto mode the ramp button will set it back to the lowest pressure in the range. I need to use this when I wake up during the night. Looking at my stats, I can handle my max pressure without waking up. But when I do wake up setting it back to the lowest pressu...

The filter is far from perfect, and the water is likely to collect the particles that get through the filter. I suspect that was what was in the bottom of the tank.
