CPAP for five years and never had a problem after celebrating with "Bacchus".
What I find REALLY WEIRD is that since getting my APAP some of my best numbers were on nights drinking good Cabernet Sauvignon. Well, my sister always said I was different!

What was your APAP range? And how do you feel on cpap compared to APAP? O. APAP was 9-15 and tried 12-15 also. 9-15 gave a better AHI, 4.6 vs 5.2. APAP averaged 0.1 AI, while the 1st week as CPAP set to 12 gave me a AI of 0.0. Cannot say I noticed any difference in the way I felt with either one.

Hi hobbs, I don't think anything can be determined until we know your leak rate. If your leak rate is high, then the other numbers aren't reliable. Why did you change to CPAP? Do you feel differently on either of them? Average leak rate is .06 L/s using a Resmed Activa mask. Going to try CPAP to se...

Help selecting pressure when changing APAP to CPAP . . .

Five weeks of APAP gave me the following average; Pressure= 11.7 AHI=4.4 AI=0.1 HI=4.3 The first week I had the machine it was set to CPAP (12cmsH20) with this average for the week; Pressure=12.2 AHI=4.8 AI=0.0 HI=4.8 My original sleep study five years ago had me at 12cmsH20. Set it back to 12, or a...

"I went ahead and poked through and enlarged all of the tiny holes"

Probably not a good idea.

This might help. I had a Activa mask that had a odd whistle. Upon inspection I found that one of the vent holes was not cut cleanly and had some "flash" partially blocking the bore. After removing the excess material the mask was fine.

I may buy a stand alone humidifier such as the F&P in a year's time (when I may be able to convince my insurer to pay the tab). But for now, I need an internal humidifier because I travel so much and need the humidification.
IMO, travel is all internal humidifiers are good for!

Another opinion . . .

Have had a Resmed Vantage for (4) week now and don't know how it could be any more quiet. I went with the Resmed because it seemed to be a better built machine. Humidifier was much better design, no extra power brick needed and better info from the LCD. Like someone said "they all blow air". You may...

POOP, then I won't get to see it until the weekend! Once I get up and start getting ready for work it won't happen. First thing this morning I rolled right out of bed and looked just to see and there was nothing. Won't there me a 7 day tally ? Set the time on the machine (6) hours early and you wil...

I assume with a large leak the machine does not detect AI or HI as the air never stops flowing?

Stick with it, you may get used to it. Five years ago at my 1st, and only, sleep test I had such a problem exhaling at 12 I was given a bipap set to 8-12. After getting a Activa mask and hating the up/down balloon effect I was able to get used to straight cpap at 12. I got a S8 Vantage about four we...

Set it to 12-15 last night and got a AHI of 3.2 and on a Resmed to boot! 95% average was 12.4. It's interesting as 12 was the pressure my (5) year old Cpap was originally set to. Will finish the week at 12 and then try as Cpap set to this weeks average.
