thanks for your help, but i have stated all the info, this is not the issue, it all worked before i had to reinstall my OS, nothing has changed, no hardware or software(the power supply was bad, causing disk errors, so system os crashed) if all this info below will really help i will dig it up, but ...

reader works fine, i can clear the card, reset the user info in encorepro and upload onto card, just can not download anymore. used the cpap utility program to save to hard drive, then reformatted card then reloaded info onto card, worked. but still will not download into encore pro. always gives me...

hey gang, had to totally rebuild my home computer, and after that, i can not download my smart card data, can see all my old data on encore pro and my encore( saved all the data files), but i get ' smart card error 80040212, error while downloading respironicsSmartCard ' i have erased the smart card...

that is what i kind of figured, the driver is the key to reading the card from the acap. as the mako reader is only 30 shipped, it is not worth saving maybe 10-15 and it not work, so i will bite the bullet and get the Mako DT3500 as i know from you all it does work. now they even have the encore pro...

what is the difference? seems like any USB reader should work, and just use the driver for the Encore...does any one know if this is the case? thanks for the help on this gang, what a great group..
