See, that's what I'm thinking Wulfman, that it'd be a great to have a back-up "just in case". Probably I'll end up buying one in the long run. But not for at least a year or so. I want to wait until I can defer money into my health savings account to cover the cost. I'm also looking into getting a b...

APAP, is the investment worth it long term?
I'm very committed to making XPAP therapy work for me. I've felt better in the past few weeks than I have in years! One of the things I hear on this forum quite a bit is the concept of investing in an APAP machine in order to be able to better adjust therapy over time without resorting to a sleep st...

Last night I got home, exhausted, from an exceedingly long day at work and just couldn't stomach the thought of another night without the low numbers I get normally. So I bumped the pressure back up to 10, since I know it works well. Numbers were much better today, and I had a much easier time sleep...

I really appreciate the comments so far! Something else that I realized after posting initially is that the RT changed my pressure from 10 to 8 in the same visit that she fitted me with the Liberty. I've never been on the Swift with a pressure of 8. I'm currently at 9 because 8 just felt like too li...

Change in mask = change in AHI??
I went from the Swift II to the Liberty a few weeks ago because I thought I was mouth breathing. My RT (who is actually a GOOD one) said my leak rate didn't indicate mouth breathing, but that she'd definitely fit me with the mask. So I've been using the Liberty these past few weeks with excellent re...

Babs, you are so right! I honestly didn't know how much the pillow was when I took it up to the register, and I bought it because it was so much firmer than the el cheapo version I'd tried earlier. Hopefully I'll be lucky enough to find a cheaper alternative for my next pillow! On a side note, I'm g...

Obusforme Anti-snore Pillow
So I found this pillow at Meijer the other night when I was wandering around the bedding aisle. http://www.amazon.com/Obus-Forme-Anti-Snore-Pillow-Shipping/dp/B000COXYES It was much cheaper at Meijer, 50 rather than 80! So far I really like it. I am trying different positions with it to see what I l...

I'm thinking a 12" circular would work, Jen... I'd be knitting it pretty loose, to allow for some air insulation. Maybe ribbed? I do most of my knitting at work these days, I'm on the phone all day and it gives me something to do with my hands! Rip, thanks for that link! That's some handy info to ha...

Hey Jen! Another knitter here! I'm thinking of knitting myself a hose cover, should be easy enough, just like a really really long sock, maybe I could even knit a heel to cover the elbow joint to my mask I also used to be a sinus infection magnet. Recently I purchase the NeilMed nasal rinse system a...

I caught myself doing that a few times as well. I know I was awake enough to aware that I was taking the mask off, but I'm not sure why I took it off, or why I wasn't awake enough to realize that I shouldn't do it. I'm using the Pur Sleep oils and they've helped A LOT with my quality of rest with th...

If you are willing to make the drive south, I had my study done at Tri-state sleep disorders just north of Cincinnati.
They were very professional and did a great job with my initial study, as well as the titration.

Good luck!!
